Yeah.... Dell lost another round with a pending free agent's representative. He wanted to be between 23-25 but it looks like it's going to be around 27 and he's bringing his brother too.

Dell never learns. It's a slightly different version of the Asik think all over again. Oh, well, let's hope he gets a good player with future picks and can do well with the bargain bin guys again

That is where the Clippers failed. They weren't able to add anybody to the mix other than Redick. Maybe we're delusional to be excited about Diallo but I really think he can become a Faried/Tristan Thompson level player. You and Ryan were talking about Frank Jackson having a Mike Bibby kind of ceiling which would be a welcome addition.

Obviously all of the fill in the edges moves won't work out, but I was looking at Doc's transactions yesterday and the amount of failure was almost inconceivable. Demps has to be able to do better. Where would the Clippers be if they had a passable starting SF and a few more bench players?

As I just mentioned to you on Twitter - he had zero competition for Jrue and Justin which means he has zero competency for the situation.

Awful awful job. I normally don't bash our GM but c'mon!

I wish. That's an average of $24 that starts around $20.5. MM just said it's around $27 so that starts around $24 and would be about 4/$108 or 5/$140

shite you're right. I shouldn't math before breakfast

I hope if he's giving up the extra money he's only giving 4 years. But I know that's not the case.

The only thing I don't know is how much Justin is taking. But I am sure it is at least a big part of the MLE, if not all of it. Dell is gonna have to do well with that future first and some contracts on the trade market.

I'm sure it's the most of it or slightly less so they can sign Jackson.

Would be great if he took enough to where we can lower tiered player with the rest of it like Jerebko or Tucker maybe but that's highly unlikely

Are they still planning to hold onto that and wait for a good deal or is all of the craziness of the offseason creating a sense of urgency?

I mean if you can get a Fournier type might as well go for it IMO - way this franchise works they'll do worse anyway

You also have to think our pick might have more value now than at the deadline because it seems like most people aren't believers in the AD/DC Pels. If stock in the team got lower then things would be bad enough that you probably shouldn't trade the pick.

So is it pretty much a done deal that we are signing Jrue and Justin? How depressing it has become with this team after the excitement of the Boogie trade last year.

Jesus Tittyfricking Christ.

Sigh.

The one thing I can hang my hat on, I guess, is that we SHOULD be a pretty good playoff team. Jrue is a good player. Justin Holiday has turned himself into a decent player.

They aren't worth anywhere near what they will be paid, but it is what it is.

I guess I'm more interested in other moves at this point.

Are you basically saying that Justin and Jrue are a lock to come here? I'm not super pumped, but I'm not ready to jump off a cliff here either. Justin seems like a nice "value for the cost" addition as he's improved at a nice clip, and he seems to just be finding his groove in the league.

Gentry may not be all-in on Point Boogie, but he certainly seems much more dedicated to running the offense through AD/DC, including using the 4/5 PnR as a weapon. Keeping Jrue off ball makes him a greater asset to the team if executed right.

Not sure we do much else after that. We are pretty much maxed out cap wise with no assets to trade. Demps AGAIN is painting us into a corner.

I forget, does this (overpaying Jrue) mean we're gonna stretch Asik this year?

There is:

BAE (Do we have that this year? I can't recall.)
Minimum Deals that Dell does well on
Trades (2018 pick etc)

It means we don't need to

Depressing that the Rockets are being aggressive and getting CP3 and targetting PG13 in their moves. We are overpaying Jrue and chasing Justin.
