Paul + Okafor for Roy + Oden
I'd do Paul + Okafor for Roy + Pryz in a heartbeat too. Cause they arent giving up Roy and Oden

Yep.
I wouldn't accept virtually any deal without a team taking back Okafor for us getting expirings or something along those lines.

Roy immediately gives you another franchise guy. Figure out what to do with Emeka later

This is our only chance of getting rid of Okafor. Roy has bad knees too.

What does everyone expect to come out of the meeting Monday?
Is Paul going to publicly make a statement afterwards? Will we announce some huge trade that keeps Paul wanting to stay here?

I think Dell Demps is legit and will know he has the leverage in this situation and won't to panic. At the very least he'll get Paul to put on a happy face until the trade deadline. He either gets traded to a better team or he gets an improved Hornets team. A win for Paul either way. I see no reason for him to not come out of the meeting and say he never demanded a trade, which he hasn't, and that he likes what he sees from Dell and Monty, which he will. That doesn't mean a trade won't eventually happen, but it's not in the Hornets best interest to do it now and it's not in Paul's best interest to be all pissy about it. If Bower was still here and we were headed into the season with Luther Head as the main pick up it'd be a different story though.

Not sure if this has been posted, and really dont feel like looking through 24 pages and the other hundred CP3

It's beginning to sound like Lebron thinks he is bigger than the game.

I'm really starting to hate LeBron James

LeBron does think he's bigger than the NBA. He's been getting sucked off by the NBA since he was 14 yr old.

I disagree, if he did he wouldn't be so scared of competition. By urging CP3 to stay in the West he is basically saying "I already joined up with 2 of the best players in basketball. Please don't go to New York, I want my path to the finals to be as easy as possible."

I think he realizes that Kobe is in his early 30s and the Lakers WC dynasty won't last nearly as long as Miami's EC dynasty. He'll need a challenging opponent to face afterward to build his legacy. He wants a Bird/Magic type of rivalry.

My expectation is that Demps and Williams won't budge on CP3's demands to go elsewhere.
The questions CP3 had about the roster are semi-legit, but Demps can convincingly argue that they were close to making the playoffs last year despite all the injuries and that making moves this upcoming offseason when Peja, Wright, et all are off the books will leave the team in a better position to compete than overpaying for someone else's garbage now.
The big remaining problem will be how CP3 reacts to being told, in the politest terms possible, STFD and STFU.

His "people" are trying to manufacture a crisis that requires immediate action before he's even had face to faces with his new coach and GM. It could just be a coincidence and he's ready to leave, but the deadline of before the season seems a little curious to me. I think based on his history of emotional attachment that his people may be trying to get him out before Monty and Dell suck him in.

13 games out isn't exactly close to making the playoffs.
Posted on 7/25/10 at 11:18 pm to TotesMcGotes
Close is relative.
They were still at .500 and in the hunt as late as March 8 but went into a freefall to end the season.
If the roster is healthier and has a better coaching group calling the shots than Bower and Tim Floyd, they can do better than that this year, especially with several teams appearing to get weaker this year, such as the Suns and Jazz.
