If that's true then wouldn't CP come out and say something along those lines?

He's not LeBron or Kobe. When's the last time he actually had something big to say to the media?

When he said he was open for a trade a couple months ago.

The lady on SportNation is right that there will only be 6 teams with mega stars and everyone else will have scrubs

What difference does it make? He's dominating headlines right now. If it's media-driven rumors he would likely want to come out and say so. If he knows that what the media is reporting as fact is indeed that, his silence is an admission of guilt.

Let's ship him and Okafor to the Blazers, Pacers, Nets, Knicks, or Kings and be dome with it.

We should be able to get maybe a nice young prospect or two and draft picks.

I think you maybe expecting too much, everyone now knows he wants out. He is going to leave, most likely, one way or another.

That Portland trade might not even get a starter back.
Miller is old and wouldn't start
Bayless wouldn't
Oden would start until he gets hurt
Fernandez maybe wants to go back home so he might just half arse it until he's let go
Late 1st don't usually give much.

Not expecting too much. but none of those players make the Hornets much better. 2 PG's when we have Collison. Oden is always hurt. and Fernandez is good, but far from a centerpiece. Same can be said with Batum. Late round 1st arent enticing either.

now if their main goal is to clear cap room, they may do something with Portland. I'd like to think they get one decent player under contract for at least 2-3 years though. I could be totally off

This isn't a fire sale. They don't have to trade him for two years if they don't want to. Adding bodies doesn't make it a better trade.

I think the best trading partner would be memphis. Nice young talent, they got cap space to eat a shat contract, and you get to stick it CP3 by sending him to Memphis.

I don't think the Hornets will get precisely equal value in any deal they do. I don't think they can make a trade that will make them "better" this season. They just need to make a trade to salvage something, clear some space and look to the future. Either that or hang on and get nothing in two years. Or pray for a miracle that somehow the young guys we now have play better than expected, Okie turns into a beast and they win 50 games and Paul is convinced to stay. Now I'm just typing.
