Pop is nowhere near washed. His politics are a non-issue. He developed Duncan and the Admiral.
He’ll do the same with Wemby.

No he did not. Robinson was a MVP before he showed up. Duncan was an upperclassmen that was mentored by Robinson. The credit should go the other way. Popovich has never won anything without Duncan.

Oh I totally agree he is prolly the best nba coach ever or at least top 3. I just personally hate the guy. The way he treats the media makes him look like an insufferable prick too.

This is going to be a fun thread to revisit in 2-3 years. Dude is old and senile. He isn’t going to get better at coaching from ages 74 to 79.
The Spurs also aren’t going to win more than 30 games if their best players are Wemby, Sochan, Keldon, and Vassell.
They still have about the 29th least talent in the league (including easily the least amount of talent in the Western Conference). Now they are also locking in the oldest coach.
It’s going to be ugly. And we should rejoice as Pels fans.
The Spurs also aren’t going to win more than 30 games if their best players are Wemby, Sochan, Keldon, and Vassell.

Somewhat. He can't win with lesser talent. Not sure he can manage the modern player. "Great" coaches don't have 20-30 win seasons..
