Man, I hate to say it but what if it’s the karma police getting us after what we did to JJ?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m 100% on board with the trade. We got 2 legit players, plus a 2nd, but if Griff did flat out lie to JJ, that’s the kind of thing that can make things roll downhill quick for you as a franchise.
Similar to when Golden State got greedy and murdered their own dynasty in cold blood when they egregiously misdiagnosed and cleared KD to play in the finals against Toronto just so they could win another tainted by too much talent ship.
Also, Kira was clearly limping after a play late in the game so this does not surprise me. We probably need to shut the kid down, because a calf strain is usually a major precursor to an achilles injury.

I mean this with all due respect, and I do mean all due respect, but that line of thinking is fricking retarded.

Well we were healthy all year. It caught up to us.
Just tank. It sucks but here we are.

JJ was the one who was in the wrong. The Pels didn’t do anything inappropriate to JJ. It is childish nonsense to take JJ’s side.

I’ve been the loudest critic of Griff’s handling of the situation but things don’t actually work like that.
The other side of the coin with us being one of the healthiest teams the first half and having almost no Covid delays is we had the most wear and tear on our players in the brutalist year, in terms of schedule, in NBA history. With one of the tougher schedules within that framework.
It sucks for us still following, and I’m not sure what the NBA expected with all the DNP’s and injuries this year, but you can’t grind players into the ground and think there won’t be a consequence to that. And for teams like us there really is no point in doing anything but being as ultra cautious as possible because there is no scenario where this Pels team is anything more than play-in fodder that will get bounced early on in the real playoffs.

The second you deviate from your core values, the universe generally does not let that go unpunished. I’ve seen it too many times in sports and in real life situations to just brush this off as a random coincidence. Griff should’ve still done the trade but also been more honest.
We went from being the healthiest team in the league to being the least healthy in 2 days.
I hope its a crazy coincidence, but I’m a bit worried tbh.

The roster injuries and turnover has been hard to keep up with the last few days

Stuff like this where you ascribe agency and judgement to the universe requires somehow rationalizing or setting aside that this supposed all powerful judge of all things is really shitty and unfair at his job and places some of the dumbest things in the larger scheme of the world’s ethical misdeeds, atop the moral hierarchy and at the front of the line for judgement.
In this scenario this “universe” is deeming innocent bystanders, that by all accounts are good, moral people doing right in the world, as opposed to the guilty party, the ones made to suffer for a ascribed misdeed committed by another. Meanwhile dictators, over 50% of all murders, a majority of rapists, and the worlds most inept leaders go on to live full lives without consequences for their heinous actions. But the players a guy employs that did a shitty job communicating and likely broke some promises to a multi-millionaire is who the universe has said needs to suffer? Not sure I’m buying that stock. Especially when a completely reasonable explanation exists and this outcome sort of benefits the guy it’s meant to punish, at least long-term.

You are entitled to your own religious views, but I don't agree.
I think that we made a real decision to tank, and that most of these injuries are minor things that guys would be playing through if we were going to make the playoffs.
At this point, we're likely headed for a top-10 pick in a great draft, so I'm fine with the tank. This season was largely ruined by the poor play of Eric Bledsoe, JJ Redick, Nico Melli, and (early in the season) Jaxson Hayes. With the those guys performing significantly below expectations, with the early struggles of the offense before the dawn of Point Zion, and then with the long stretch of difficulty in playing effective defense, our season never lived up to its potential. But the future is bright, and I expect the team to make a huge jump next season.

I know anything can happen. But we really need to get in that top 7-8 to really have a solid shot. The odds are still pretty good until you start getting past the 7 slot.

No need to play any games with the draft. Take Kispert in the first and take Juzang with the early second round pick and profit.
