True, but is that what Kawhi is doing right now? I don't really see a leak as posing a problem to a deal. I'll eat crow. I never imagined Kawhi actually going to the Lakers.
I still don't understand it in any way. He's going to be third-fiddle behind LeBron and AD. He's going to be hated by the country. A quiet man who is the opposite of flashy and glitz is going to the glitziest and flashiest franchise in the NBA. Kawhi is going to a franchise with obviously inept management. Etc. It just doesn't make any sense to me.

The guy may have some sort of connection, but he’s clearly not in the know of their daily going ons.

Kawhi is an enigma if anyone would move after an NBA championship and not give a frick about the surrounding circumstances it's him.
Also he seems heavily influenced by his family mainly his uncle. Sure they'd want him in LA

TBH, I've wondered for a while, but it wouldn't shock me if Kawhi is slightly on the spectrum or has a slight narcissistic personality disorder.
Which despite my feelings expressed earlier is not meant as a dig. Lots of good, high-functioning, ultra-successful people have some of those traits, but it would explain pretty well some of his cold, standoffish, and enigmatic personality traits.
I'm not confident enough to wager it's the case, but it makes some sense if you look at a lot of his behavior through that lens.

Actually, it would be pretty interesting if, during Kawhi's meeting with the Clippers that's supposedly happening right now, Steve Ballmer were to say to Kawhi,
"So, Jeanie's nephew says that it's a done deal that you're heading to the Lakers."
