Your boy gave up 4 second rounders for an expiring contract. Would not doubt your boy sells that Bucks pick for another expiring contract.
Thanks

Probably not getting that Lakers pick now

Why do people think that wins and losses affect if a team gets moved?
We could go winless for the next 2 years and it would have 0 effect on if we get moved or not.
Moving a team is all about money and has nothing to do with who the president or head coach is.

Not exactly. If all you do is lose, no one comes to games and an owner looking to move has a justifiable reason to pursue it. Not a doubt in my mind, if Payton and Brees didn’t win that first year in New Orleans and the Dome was empty, Benson would have used it as a justification to say the city couldn’t support the Saints and flee to San Antonio.

Swaps? Lakers are playoff bound while the Pelicans finish out as one of the worst teams in the NBA in 2023.

And again teams have us figured out . When it started going downhill Griff. sat on his hands rather than make changes.
You got a butt whipping to the Kings. What to keep on denying now? Continue to dig yourself a deeper hole.

I am absolutely thrilled he didn't make additional moves to make things worse. Zero faith in his roster construction. Two straight seasons of the same issues shooting and interior defense/rim protection result in this mess. Yes, they were playing well with Zion but losing one player shouldn't automatically make you a bottom 5 team in the NBA. This is an absolutely insane collapse.

Griffin needs to be fired. Period.
He blew it big time with massive resources at his disposal too.

Pels have 5 players shooting over 37% from 3pt (Lewis, Temple, Ingram, McCollum, Murphy). Pels next best % shooter is Zion at 36%.
Nuggets have 12 players shooting over 37% from 3pt, Blazers have 11, Mavs have 10, Clippers have 9, Bucks have 8, Suns have 8, Warriors have 7, 76ers have 7, Nets have 7, Kings have 7, Twolves have 7, Jazz have 6, Lakers have 6, Hawks have 6, Wiz have 6, Cavs have 5, Raptors have 5, Pacers have 5, Grizzlies have 4, Bulls have 4, Knicks have 3, Miami has 3.
Pels are probably short at least 2 quality shooters.
The formula is surround star players with shooters. 2 of the 3 Pels shooters that actually play (possibly adding Kira) are 2 of our 3 max contract players, so Griff has surrounded our star players with a grand total of 1 shooter (maybe 2 depending on Kira).
**But all this is new information…no one could’ve seen the Pels might need more shooting right?
What’s almost hilarious is the one move made at the trade deadline was to move a decent shooter for another decent shooter with better defense.
I actually like the Josh addition, but not getting any of Kennard, Muscala, Beasley, Holiday (even Bamba, Nunn could’ve been helpful) was simply a mistake. It’s not that we needed those kind of guys to make a playoff push, although that is true too, but the Pels simply need more shooters going forward period, so Griff needs to get them whenever he can.
Shooting and interior defense…same old story.

Griff should be fired for putting together a roster built for 1999...AGAIN.
Dinosaur big. No shooters. Guys who love low percentage mid-range shots.
What a Cluster frick.

Completely agree. Good points!

Absent tapping into significant draft capital it’s going to be three straight seasons. Griff has $130,00,000 in committed salary to CJ, Ingram, Zion, Jonas and Nance.
We are going to be disappointed again in 2023-2024 if we hang our hat on internal growth from Herb/Jose/Dyson/Naji/Kira to smooth out our shooting issues.

A poster on pelicans report nailed it perfectly from As I see it
quote:
First Round Picks # 1: Can't be relied upon. JAX: In need of development, currently buried by Willie, NAW: Never worked out here; now on his fourth team Kira: Injured in his second year and now buried by Willie. 3M3: Spot Starter who shows signs but is at least two years away. DD: Plays sparingly out of need. Meanwhile, two undrafted free agents (Jose' and Naji) are higher on the Pelican food chain than any of our first round picks absent # 1.

Well if Griffin really did fix this overnight then I will give him credit. Probably means we no longer need Ingram. We shall see Tuesday.

Scoring Season High:
Zion - 43
BI - 40
CJ - 42
GTA - 38
Trigga - 41
JV - 37
Sounds like Griffin got some talent on the team. This doesn’t even include Herb, Dyson, Naji, and Kira as young talent. Then you have vets like Josh, Willie, and Larry.
So coaching and training staff eventually are the responsibility of Griffin also, but it appears the team has talent to work with. They are also in a decent salary cap position and still have draft capital.

Don’t get it twisted…the Pels have talent, but the roster isn’t balanced…it lacks sufficient shooters to consistently keep the floor spread and offense working much of the time…a win against a bad Blazers squad without Dame doesn’t change it.
If Trey can become a higher volume shooter then it would certainly help, but the Pels still need 1-2 guys that can shoot (and interior D/rim protection), so we don’t have to rely on someone going supernova to have an effective offense.

All teams are flawed. This proves they have immense offensive talent and they should be doing better.

They just need their stars to play 60 games a year. It's been rough in the health department.
