Wouldn’t be surprised to see Gentry moved to FO and Finch promoted internally to keep guys like Vinson or McMillan around. I’m sure Bzdelik would get a larger role in year 2 too if he doesn’t leave for elsewhere.

If that was the plan, they needed to make that move a month ago to kick the tires.

For someone that really hasn't watched a lot of Brooklyn Nets basketball and has no idea about the style Atkinson likes to play, is it similar to the fast-paced system Gentry utilizes?

He says it has nothing to do with the players

Did someone ask the question or did he basically confirm it by feeling the need to deny it?

They asked him directly..

He said the players didn't even know what was going on and he had just left from the locker room telling them.

The mere fact that anyone can conceive of a "Godfather AD Offer" coming from the @BrooklynNets speaks volumes of the job that Sean Marks, Trajan Langdon and Kenny Atkinson have done. Incredible maximization of room and limited assets

Nets fans say Kenny doesn’t make mid game adjustments and that’s one of his main flaws but outside of that he’s solid.

11th in pace last year, 10th this year, 1st in pace Atkinson’s first year.

Always been in the top 5 in 3PA’s.

I feel like I heard that somewhere.

Reports are he “lost the lockerroom” during their struggles this year.

Aka Kyrie.

If your kill list includes perhaps the best coach to come into the league in a decade, who everyone else seems to love, my first thought is when one of the most exciting up and coming coaches that players loved before your arrival just happens to produce the same problem with your presence, I tend to default it isn’t the coach that was the problem.

Does Sean Marks suddenly hate his job or have some late CTE setting in?

That would be insane and suicidal.

Kyrie spouting entitled flat earther nonsense as his teammates tune him out while Mark tries to lead a prayer group and turns the team against the front office for motivation sounds Knicks esque.

100% Kyrie. I just read an article in January about the defensive adjustments they’ve been making this year. In the article they mentioned and quoted how much the young players on the team absolutely love and trust Kenny because they know he always has their back. This is so out of left field

Atkinson needs to be brought on as an analyst for the remainder of the season.

Idk if that’s even a thing in the NBA, I watch to much college football.

While I do agree that Atkinson is a solid coach, and a good candidate to replace Gentry, I am a little hesitant to put some of the praise on him that some of you are. He was coaching in the East after all. It's not as difficult to make a moderate jump in win% out there.

I trust a lot of the names in this thread. Saying Atkinson is a topnotch candidate for coach has me wanting to jump on his bandwagon. I just know Gentry should go.

It is just a very bizarre story (as have most stories directly or indirectly involving Kyrie).
