first, his wingspan is listed at 6'8' on draftexpress.

My bad. I simply googled it and that's the first thing that came up.
If it's just 6'7 or 6'8", then yeah that's not someone who should be matching up with the biggers 3's in the league.

I guess a better way of putting it is, what are you expectations in seeing how Hill looks? And how good does he have to play before you say "ok lets go get someone like Carroll"?

He simply needs to get back to being a good defender. He looks slow with his lateral quickness right now, and has made a lot of dumb decisions that we are not used to seeing from him.

That and he needs to hit his open 3's at a rate around 36%, and show some ability to be productive when driving to the rim. Ian Clark showed that this year with his floater. Guys half assed ran out at him on the 3 point line kind of letting him shoot, and he'd pass up an open 3 and blow by them for a floater that he became money on.
For being a good free throw shooter, there's no reason he shouldn't be able to hit his 3's at a better clip, especially considering the majority of them are wide open shots.

If Solo can do that, he's worthy of the starting SF position on this team.

The 76'ers have benched Covington. He would be a great fit.

Without a question. After they acquire Lebron they are gonna look for picks and expirings so they can then potentially flip those to bring back guys like JJ Redick, who fit beautifully with lebron and simmons.

And Covington would fit great with the Pelicans, he can rely on getting open and knocking down shots here and nothing else, where as he had more responsibility he couldnt match in philly. not to mention hes 6'9" and a great defender. Just your basic 3+D and do it well.

Whether you like Carrol/Fournier/Bazemore, all of those guys are Plan C or lower in my book. Those are the deals you can make anytime and the longer you wait the less you have to send out or the more they might send back.

The league has gone gone Wrasslin level bonkers when it comes to off court drama and player movement. Multiple big name players will change teams in the next 9 months. Imagine not being able to land Boogie because at the beginning of that season they traded the 2017 pick to turn Asik into Vucevic.

Patience and hoarding your assets for the right opportunity is usually one of the keys to good roster management. In the 34 games post Boogie this team was 21-13. I really don't think there is pressure to make a significant trade on day 1 unless we can get in on a big deal for a star level starter.

I would expect to see sort of a SF version of what we get out of Rondo on offense. Some games he'll make teams pay for ignoring him and other games if he's not being elite at what he's best at (defense for Hill, assists for Rondo), you'll wish he wasn't on the floor. In the playoffs Rondo and Hill on the floor at the same time might not be playable, and that is a long term problem, but during the regular season I think they'll be able to get by against most teams.

Unless he surprises us like Jrue he'll need to be moved eventually, I just don't think there's a rush to sell low.

The only thing I also think about Carroll is if we dump Solo for him that it may be easier to bring Carroll back on a cheaper contract the next season. That may allow us to spend a little to keep Mirotic also. We should continue to have late picks in the first round which have value; however, much reduced from the lottery.

Solo is going to be difficult to move because of the extra years.

Roddick will cost as much as boogie.
Covington has not hit his ceiling. He can really play basketball. Gsw would love him.

I think we need to upgrade our 3 & D SF, but I would be very interested how the league including Golden state will shut down a rotation of Davis, Cousins, and Mirotic. I think the Pels can score with GSW already. I wonder how much the rebounding and paint control would impact a matchup with team likes Golden State and Houston.

We will still also have evil Jrue which has been one of the stars of the post season. He is averaging 23 ppg/5 rpg/6apg on 52%FG and playing elite defense.
