Two Pelicans made the dishonorable mention category. One is Frank Jackson, the other was NAW.

Comments?

Being in the arena to see the whole court was very helpful in seeing how atrocious Frank is on defense.

Yet in some games Gentry has Frank guarding teams best scorers in the fourth quarter for whatever dumb reason.

Good question. Went back and rechecked. JJ was in same category as NAW.

Dishonorable Mentions: Eric Gordon (3.7), Anfernee Simons (3.7), JJ Redick (4.0), Buddy Hield (8.3), Nickeil Alexander-Walker (10.0).

As reference, Bradley Beal was the worst at (2.0 - defensive rating).

Where is Trae Young? I don't care what the metrics say, he is the worst defensive player in the nba

He is the worst of the worst. He was the lowest rated defender at any position. He is really a liability. He is short with no reach nor any desire to get better.

Trae Young is a defensive score of 3.0.

Dishonorable Mentions: Collin Sexton (3.3), Frank Jackson (3.7), D'Angelo Russell (3.7), Derrick Rose (7.7), Damian Lillard (8.7)

Maybe early season, but Frank has been a pretty damn good defender lately.

He shut down Mitchell when they tasked him with guarding him late in the game.

Which game? Because I specifically remember during one of the last two meetings, Spida destroyed him play after play until Lonzo basically stepped in mid-play and said he would guard him.

Well, better doesn't mean good. Frank has been better on defense. I don't think that he's been good.

The Wizards have 3 of the worst defenders at their positions.

The results were:

PG: Trae Young
SG: Bradley Beal
SF: Justin Jefferson
PF: Rui Hachimura
C: Thomas Bryant

The game BI hit the winning shot, then as usual refs fricked us

Frank played Mitchell down the stretch in the 4th and overtime

Frank is a mixed bag. He has had moments where he's looked solid staying in front of guys like Mitchell in big situations. More often than not though he looks like Brian Roberts or Instant Grits escorting guys to the basket.

He's got good effort and decent quickness so I have to assume it's his lack of size that keeps him from being a good defender. That's hard to fix. He's going to have to pick up some veteran tricks to become passable on defense. Like how JJ is good at positioning himself and E'Tuwan has a knack for timely steals and blocks after he's been beat.

Frank is not a bad defender. He is decent at times with his moments of being very good. It is Bleacher Report, so who knows? JJ is another story. He is a terrible defender.
