The OP's consistently displayed hatred of Ingram may explain the point of view. And without a doubt BI was sensational in the third quarter and we wouldn't have had a chance to win without it. He also was not good down the stretch. But thankfully his teammates (CJ and Herb in particular) picked him up.

That makes it easy. Let him walk!

Let's just use Boston and their starters as an example. There is absolutely no doubt Tatum and brown are 1a/1b.

It is a good example. Would Boston rather have Ingram or Herb as its third best player?

Objectively, this shouldn’t be close because Ingram is a better overall player than Herb. But I think the answer might be Herb. Ingram’s game requires him to be the primary guy and he’s just not good enough to be that guy.

My point was more along the lines of our 4th quarter crunch time execution.

Willie's reliance on iso BI continues to fail. BI isn't good enough and the strategy is weak.

Willie also called iso for CJ & Murray in the 4th as well. It seems Willie is the one offensively challenged in crutch time.

Every team goes ISO with their best players in crunch time. The problem isn't ISO, it's off ball movement. Good teams will have a lot of off ball movement giving their star player options, bad teams will sit and watch their star take a high degree of difficulty shot if the double team doesn't lead to a turnover first.

And this is what we see from the Pels during those iso sets in crunch time every single time. It's so frustrating.

Could not agree more. Our late game problems are always the same. Guys stand around and watch. Every single time.

I've been saying for a while that BI is good, not great, and definitely not the player that will ever lead a team to a ship. He is not clutch and has never stepped up to takeover the team in any way.

I like BI but think he is a 3rd complimentary piece. He slows the ball down and runs the shot clock down way too much. Loves trading 2's while the other teams shoot 3's.

So, the 21 points he scored in the 3rd that erased an 11 point deficit does not matter because you did not see it and it was not in the 4th quarter? He was key to the victory.

The problem is - and what the OP is trying to point out - that this is the exception for BI. How many times has he done that this year? Last year? In his career?

If you consistently watch the Pelicans, you know that's not normal BI. The most frustrating part about it is, we have all seen him play and know he COULD be that guy. He just isn't.

It’s silly when posters focus their frustration on CJ…
