All he's been focusing on his how many of NAWs passes were 'almost turnovers' or 'fumbled out of bounds' by defenders

Could very well end up wrong but doesn’t really need to take the L because of a few summer league games

All he's been focusing on? C'mon. What Crewz was doing was saying that we're all focusing on NAW and he's really impressed more with Didi.

I don't agree with the take, but he's not bashing NAW.

If you draft a guy at 17th, isn’t having him be a 7th or 8th guy considered a success? Lots of players in the back end of the first tend to just fall out of the league completely.

If he has a better career than Dennis Schroeder or Iman Shumpert, he will have been the best pick at 17 since Jrue in 2009.

We had the original summer league MVP, Marcus Banks for a couple hours.

Precisely

Being a positive contributor off the bench at 17 is above average. Anything more is just straight luck

The bad can be fixed with work if he will put in effort.

I’m more concerned about the good at the moment because that shows his ceiling is higher than expected when he was drafted.

He’s the exception. He wasn’t drafted as a PG and the Pelicans weren’t sure if he could play that position in the league. Hell, they started him at the 2guard and he literally took the position within minutes of the game forcing the staff to move him to the 1. He’s been playing that position most of the time ever since.

He’s not going to be perfect and there are things he’ll need to clean up like any rookie. But for him to do what he’s doing at a position that he wasn’t suppose to be playing in the league, I’d give him a huge pass. It’s hard to criticize him on anything right now.

To be doing what he’s doing and doing it better than a lot of the other PGs in his class is impressive.

agree with all of that but still doesn't mean you can't call the bad out I mean the good has Def out weighed bad but I'm just saying it's not bashing for calling those things out

He made Coby White his bitch.

White was drafted as 7th overall and is the highest drafted PG playing in Summer League since Garland is still recovering from knee surgery.

It’s not like he is beating up on G League superstars out there. It includes a guy who was argued as the best point in this draft.

His ceiling has gone up, but so has his floor, which I now think is, eventually, NBA starter.

NAW
One thing I've noticed is that he doesn't put much touch on his passes. Or at least he hasn't showcased that yet. Everything is a bullet. Of course he is squeezing most of his playmaking passes through tight windows, which obviously requires a lot of heat on the ball.

But I'd say what has impressed me the most is the accuracy of a lot of his passes. The ball usually seems to hit the receiving player right in the hands. Or in the chest or head. It's not usually to the left or right of the other guy. For example, he had a cross court pass to Didi (I think?) last night that hit him square in the chest. It was perfect.
I'm sure there are statistics or articles that discuss improved shooting percentages based on where the pass is caught by the shooting player.

I saw where he said he thinks NAW is only going to be "above average at a lot of things", something people used to say about Jrue.

He's changed his tune about Jrue over the years so I would imagine his opinions of NAW are fluid.

Did you guys see that layup he did with the slow spin? It took so long to go in it was like it was moving in slow motion..

Is it just me or are you guys seeing potential star qualities out there from him too?

A lot of star qualities. I'll eat my hat if he isn't a legit starter on a championship type squad
