There was not one NBA commenter who didn’t trash the trade because everyone knew Atlanta would have surely done it with a Top 5 trade protection. So the problem wasn’t they wanted Queen or drafted Queen, it’s because they gave away way more than they needed to accomplish it. And that’s idiotic no matter how good Queen becomes. You can't play what ifs and act those are actaul facts. If we did not pick DQ, we have zero idea of how the season would have played out. Maybe we are worse and still get the #8 pick bc of the lottery
It was a bad trade on paper at the time, but now it worked out.

The Pelicans probably win less games without Queen and are likely drafting in a better position They also likely have the Pacers 1st round pick as well.

The Pacers pick would have been drafted last year and was acquired in a separate trade. We have to stop comparing a top 4 Pacers pick to the value of Queen. We trade #23 not a top 4 pick.

He's proven he was a terrible NBA executive with the Pistons which is why he was fired. And he's continued to do the same here. The league has continued on without him, he's aged out.
