You wanna talk about a coach that has his teams back- good shite Monty Williams.

Willie Green = Spineless HC

Those calls at the end of that game were appalling. Glad he called it out.
Called it out soft and politely though… I’m guessing many players and head coaches (probably rightly) are anxious of upsetting sponsors… and young’ns.

However… just one good…

‘I’m f*cking tired of this sh*t happening game after game… driving to the hole and getting hit every damn time and nothing getting called. Jump shooters getting twice my free throws… Giannis and Lebron getting twice the amount. It’s completely f*cking unacceptable’…

…from Zion or Willie… would be nice.

Monty may be undefeated with this roster which shows you how bad Willie is.

Monty speaking the truth. Smaller markets just want a fair game. We’re not asking for favors, just call it consistent.

These calls rarely show up in Primetime TV games, but man if you're a small market playing a top seed on the road on some regional TV affiliate, prepare to get butt pounded by the refs

Month's probably been the worst coach in the NBA this season.

fricking love Monty though man. I think Phoenix really fricked with him and he's just broken. Hopefully he fixes himself, but I can't imagine what it'd be like to go from coaching Chris Paul and Booker to the scrubs Detroit rolls out every night.

Agreed

Obviously Detroit stinks, but their collection of talent is way "too good" to have been on an all time worse trajectory for a half a season.

If you look at the teams that have been historically bad, they look nothing like this Pistons team.

But Monty was doing stuff like playing a non NBA level player in Killian Hayes over Jaden Ivey when everyone in the world except for Monty and Killian's parents knew that was just absurd.

Yeah if people are mad at Willy's rotations and hesitation to play young guys, Monty might be the literal last person in the NBA you want to talk up.

The team had to waive multiple players just so Monty could start playing lottery picks. Evan Fourneir, who they acquired two weeks ago, is getting more minutes on an 8 win team than Cade Cunningham, Jalen Duren, Asur Thomposon, and Jaden Ivey

exaggerate a bit huh?

the guy who's played 5 games averaging 21 mpg is not playing more than any of the guys you listed. And Burks was playing those exact 21mpg before the trade, so it wasn't happening before either.

You act like they had a bunch of veterans on their team. They had Bogdanvich and Burks.
Fontecchio is taking Bogdnavich's minutes and Fournier is taking Burks and those are the only two players getting playing time that weren't born in this century.

You are 40 games under .500. How does "blasting refs" make you look any better?

I feel like this was the prevailing thought amongst Pels fans when he was our coach, at the Phoenix run he had spawned a lot of revisionist history takes.

Monty's "success" paralleled Chris Paul's time there. I think the roster made him look better than he is. He can't make playoff adjustments.

Willie should have done this last year but it needs to be done or I’m wondering why the hell my coach isn’t taking up for me if i’m Zion. The way they hack at him is unlike i’ve seen since Shaq but Shaq would get to the line. Z has to be assaulted to get to the line. If he were 3 inches taller he’d get more calls. I honestly don’t think the refs really understand how bad these 6’11 and 7’1” guys are still having to hit him to stop him. He’s a strange build at 6’6” 285 with point guard ball handling and passing skills so the NBA has never seen a guy like him but enough is enough. Call the game the right way. Our guys don’t flop like others and we don’t get to the line because we play through it.

You guys already forget that Monty complained about the refs during our playoffs series and last year as well with good success?

Willie is as spineless and cowardly as anyone I've ever seen. But he had that speech that one time.
