Will Guillory and Andrew Lopez occasionally get shared credit with Shams/Woj respectively. I'm not sure of the division of labor on those, but both break news without their local counterpart too, so I assume some level of legwork gets done by Guillory/Lopez when they get shared credit.
But most beat writers aren't going to be news breakers. The NBA rumors game is just not played at a local level. You need to be a national player to have enough info to trade.

I agree on Lopez. To me he is the only one who actually seems like he has inside information and shares it as well. Granted hes second fiddle to Woj but Lopez is actually legit. Guillory- by all accounts a good guy but he just gives out opinions or information that has already been broken much earlier by another source. Even for a local beat he doesn’t seem as tuned in. Seems like Clark is more tuned on than him.

If your a reporter its everything. In any aspect of journalism especially in regards to credibility and moving ahead in your career. Breaking news is a big deal. How do you think Shams and Woj got to where they are?
Whats stupid is you don’t understand the breaking a legit source of information first is everything in journalism. You dont get ahead and noticed by writing opinion based articles or things people already know.

Mike Triplett and Kat Terrell are higher than Jeff Duncan for Saints info.
Also, I’d say Fletch is the most accurate Pels reporter if you believe the exact opposite of what he says.
