Having Jrue and PG shutting down your wings while AD defends the rim, makes you the best Defense in the league.

Covington or Saric (especially if his 3 continues to improve) woupd be perfect for this team.

Would let Mirotic go so fast

I honestly don’t think we’d have to give up Mirotic. Look at the package the Clippers got for CP3. Harrell/Bev/Decker/1st. Mirotic is way more valuable than any of those guys. If George were to say I’ll only opt in if you trade me to NO, I think a Moore/Hill/Diallo/1st package could get it done.

PG will be making $30M
that haul is a hair over $20M.
There's a reason people were saying Mirotic/Hill/Ajinca. It's close to $30M.

Yep, Sixers can renounce Reddick and replace him with George if both parties so desire. That lineup is scary.
My "is this a thing" question was in regards to them having too many wings. Can you have too many wings? I don't think so.

He's only at ~20 mil if he opts in.

Lou Williams was in that deal fyi...

Why would you want 1 year of PG for a cheap Moore contract, a first rounder, and Mirotic (who WOULD be our starting PF since we wouldnt be able to keep Coousins while having PG
Too many dumbasses look and say, YEAH ID LOVE PAUL GEORGE. Well no shite...
But you gotta look at contracts and how it effects us. Trading 2 players and a first rounder for a 1 year rental of player who has been playing under his avg for the last couple years is not something i want.
(Clearly I would love to have PG, but not for that offer. Id want him to sign a deal before we trade for a 1 year deal. AD has a lot of years left in the tank, lets not ruin our future idiots)

niko is signed for 1 year then will want to be paid. moore only 2 years, and let's not act like he's a needle mover. 1st rounder would become borderline 2nd rounder if we had rondo, jrue, PG, AD, boogie. slim chance we keep that pick anyway
maybe 1% chance of PG even requesting a sign&trade to us, but you'd be moronic to decline that deal

The scenario only plays out if Boogie resigns. We are already going to be in the Lux tax. So exchanging Moore, Alexi, and Niko with a pic wouldn't really matter.

Yeah, for some reason I thought they’d signed him as an FA. Still, my point stands. It wasn’t a ridiculous bounty. Lou Will’s production dropped off a cliff once he was traded from the Lakers to Houston, I doubt anyone predicted he’d to play at an almost All Star level this season. He’s also 32. None of the guys traded to the Clippers for Paul could touch Niko’s current value when they were traded.

Would take PG13 over re-signing Boogie every damn day

He actually doesnt have to turn down any money.
Paul George could approach the thunder and tell them he wants to be on the Pelicans, requesting that he opt in and then be traded to the Pelicans. We could then offer him more money in 19’.
We could then do the following trade:
Pels Recieve: Paul George
Thunder Recieve: 2021 unprotected 1st
Emeka Okafor
Liggins
E’twaun Moore (if neccessary)
Hawks Receive:
Solomon Hill
Alexis Ajinca
2019 unprotected first
Why the Thunder say yes:
Although it’s certainly not the best haul for a top 20 player, they get to waive okafor and liggins (non guaranteed deals), the trade generates a very substanitial trade exception, additinally they would receive the 21’ unprotected first, which would be worth a lot if everything falls apart for the pels. If thats not enough you include Moore.
Why the Hawks say yes:
They have a great deal of cap space, so theyd probably willing to take on salary for a 1st. Plus if they start Hill, it can help their tank keep on rolling.
Why the Pels say yes:
You acquire the star SF that is almost neccesary to contend in the NBA. Also, if you add Moore to the deal, the pels would actually create an $8 million trade exception.
The 2019 pick would be unprotected because if it wasnt protected then you couldnt trade 2021 because if the 19 pick conveyed in 2020 you would have traded two consecutive picks. The 21’ pick is unprotected to make it more attractive as something that could possibly hold value in the future.

why on earth would he opt in?
He's not Melo. He's got many years left of playing at an elite level.
If he wants a 1 year contract, he can opt out and sign a 1 year max deal somewhere i'm sure for a lot more than 20mil.
It makes zero sense for him to opt in.
Doctor Van Nostrand, i don't agree with anythign you proposed.

right. around Simmons and Embiid, the more tall wings that can shoot and switch, the better.
that lineup you posted would be absurd. it should be able to give GS real problems on both ends
