What are people's thoughts on Andre Iguodala being picked up in free agency as it appears the small forward will exercise the ETO in his contract with Denver

By the Pelicans? Slim to none. I think CP3, Dwight, Iggy, and Josh Smith will all end up on a team that is already a playoff level team. Once those guys are off the board the rest of the bigger money FAs may have to go to a less established team like the Pelicans to get their money, but I think Iggy will be one of the FAs that can get his money from a competitive team.

I'd take him, but we'd have to overpay for him.

I expect him to go to a team with some established star
because he's been on some bad teams in the past. Maybe he'll follow CP3 or go to NYK or Brooklyn or something.

Or go to nyk of Brooklyn

Basically no chance of this unless he takes a minimum contract which would never happen

I don't know where he'll go really. I don't think he'll command huge money unless he goes to somebody who will overpay. He's 29 years old. I just think he will want to go somewhere he can compete for a championship.

I think Brooklyn has some money to offer. Between DWill and Lopez. Maybe Boston? Or like I said, maybe he follows CP3 or Dwight. Just a feeling, that's all.

Here's what I think. Not being a homer or a guy with unrealistic expectations. I think the following will happen next season. Gordon is healthy for the most part and has a banner year, Rivers makes great progress, can finish with his left hand and plays very solid defense. AD develops as we all think he will. The outlook for the Pelicans changes significantly.

No shite. I had a vision. I just know it.

plus i dont get the smallest of talks about AI at this point. especially to nola. here are my reasons we don't want him even if he wanted to join us.

1. not pos of need
2. nearly 2mil more than our max player and he plays the same pos
3. he's 29 and we're building
4. we have 3 more years to flip ego for greater goods than one year of AI

and the most important reason of all! we want pek....we want pek....we want pek.

Iggy is a proven SF (biggest hole on the team). He played some SG this year at Denver and is on the decline now. It would not be a good pick-up..

Small forward is not a position of need? Small forward isperhaps our biggest position of need. He and Eric Gordon do not play the same position. Gordon is a 2 and Iggy is a 3. We will have the cap space. Pekovic is definitely an option if the Iggy falls through but Robin Lopez is coming off a career year where he put up solid numbers. If Lopez works on his defensive ability in the paint then the 5 spot will not particulary be an area of need. My only thoughts are that maybe Iggy is the final missing piece to an effective offensive team with a dirty dirty defense as long as lopez locks down the paint allowing AD to roam around the block shots and then Iggy running around the perimeter stealing the rock.

The guy is planning on turning down $16m from the Nuggets to become a free agent. There is absolutely no chance that at almost 30 years old he will turn down $16m from a playoff team to make significantly less on a team just starting its rebuild.
