Randle is almost exactly one year older. The only advantages that KAT have are he's taller and shoots 3s really well. But he doesn't like playing Center, which he's going to have to do exclusively for the Knicks..

There is no contract, technically, and/or he has the same contract/issue as Randle

How is that going to go over with Thibodeau
He's already coached KAT, IIRC, so I'm sure he signed off on it.
TT knows they weren't winning shite with their lack of offense in the playoffs

I think he opts in to next year, when he sees a bad market. So he's playing for about 30M the next two years, which is almost half of what KAT makes.

I did forget about that. But I don't remember it ending great. Like I said, he's going to have to be a Center now, full time. He's soft. But he can shoot/score. We'll see how it comes together. I still think the Wolves got the better end of the deal.
What would be interesting is if they decide to move on from Gobert. Would there be any market for him? Could we be that desperate?

Look, KAT has some warts, but he's the best player in that deal.

Randle is such a good player when healthy and he’ll make Minny better. I’d rather him over Kat any day

I can't believe some people are mad we didn't get KAT when we constantly bitch about Zions commitment level.

However, Randle has not had Gobert next to him so his rebounding numbers look better recently. Towns is probably one of the best 3 point shooting bigs in the game. That matters.
How is KAT better?

I think KAT is soft AF, but I’ve been saying he’s a perfect match for Z for a while

And has substantial injury history. Would've been a perfect match for NOLA.

This is pretty sad. Towns was one of the people I thought we’d have a chance to trade BI at the deadline for. Kinda helps our team and woukd pair with Zion pretty good. Has a skill set that would be very useful on our tream. But his contract is so God awful.
But beggars can’t be choosers and Griff is certainly a beggar at this point.

Randle is an all-star too. He's arguably better than KAT and doesn't have a horrendous contract. Divencenzo is going to play big minutes, if not start. The Wolves made out with this trade and got better/deeper.
Griff should take notes from Leon Rose. Supposedly he offered Randle an extension and he didn’t take it. It’s why he got shipped out. It’s what Griff shoujd have done as soon as BI was extension eligible.
Randle is still going to want a payday. He actually has all NBA’s on his resume unlike BI….

No. I am an unapologeticly huge Randle fan. I've attached myself since he was with us and have been supporting him ever since then. I believe he's still massively underrated.
I don't see how KAT is better. He's a better shooter, but that's not what I want out of a Superstar big. I can't debate his talent, that's obvious. But it's wasted on him and he is no where near loving up to his potential.
Let's see how he operates in NYC, under those bright lights. He couldn't take the pressure in Minnesota. How he going to on the biggest stage in the league? Randle excelled and, over the past 5 years, he's exceeded KAT in just about every meaningful metric.

Pretty much everywhere offensively and both suck on defense.

That's a bit of hopium....but if you're right and the market for Randle is that bad, then it will be just as bad for BI, so that helps us. They're the 2 canaries in the coal mine with the impacts of the 2nd apron.

I thought that was Jimmy Butler doing Jimmy Butler things and nuking his team.

And you prefer Randle...why? What is your ideal of a Superstar big, and how is Randle better than KAT?
They're both bigs who play small offensively and KAT is just better than Randle at doing that.

Good trade for the Knicks. With Robinson hurt, their situation at the 5 was worse than the Pels. Randle didn't have a spot with Ogi and Bridges at the 4 and 3, respectively. Plus, JB is a ball dominant point and Randle, IMO, wouldn't fit that offense.

Big missed opportunity for us here. The Knicks need two guard/wing big depth badly. They will have to start OG, Hart and Bridges. They don't really have any backups 2-4. I don't think we have to players or contracts that would get a deal done. I wouldn't trade Jones for him..
