Justin Termine “Dirkles won championship with Jason Terry. AD can’t get it done with Jrue.

He called AD weak sauce and dispelled the lie AD doesn’t have talent around him. It was nice to hear!

It’s really sad that AD/Jrue doesn’t even seem to be as formidable as a younger Conley/Gasol were. The talent’s there, there just isn’t enough dog in them.

I love to shite on AD right now, but I mean...assuming Dirk = AD.

Jrue, Niko, Randle, Moore, Payton, and Miller

or

Terry, Butler/Stevenson, Marion, Chandler, Barea, and Kidd

Not counting the fact that Niko and Payton missed chunks of games resorting to us having to use guys like Frazier and Diallo

FIFY. Jrue’s got that dog. It’s just never been his team.

I love me some Jrue and he's looked like an alpha surrounded by the kids and bringing the ball up the court and directing guys. But we are where we are because most of the AD era they haven't been.

Terry and Barea played extremely well in the finals so this isn't really a gotcha moment.

Agreed. Go back and watch that finals, Terry played out of his mind.

Terry was a decent player if memory serves me. He just spent most of his career on a meh Atlanta team where he was the featured guy. He was a good #2, but not a lead dog.

He fit in well with Dallas though once he got there.

I mean can you give me one example of a good team with a top 5 level talent where the 2nd best or later guy on the team was who everyone deferred to that wasn’t a short term thing? I mean sure Paul in Houston, Rondo last year, all in spurts, but not for extended periods with the same team. You can’t judge Jrue for his tenure with Anthony Davis. MAYBE if he were healthy for the early Davis years, he could imprint his attitude onto the team, but he was pretty much mia for a couple years.

Gasol and Conley complimented each other better.

Jrue’s role changed like 3 times in their time together.

Early 2000s pistons are a possible answer where the alpha was supposed to Ben Wallace but it was essentially Chauncey’s team

and yet Sheed was the best player out of that group.

and AD is way ahead of what prime Gasol was, current Jrue is arguably better than any Conley season. Dumb

If Memphis was in the East, and they should be, Conley would be way higher rated.

Guy is a true point guard.

Conley doesn’t have Jrues athletic gifts but is a higher IQ player. Same goes for Gasol and AD.

Gasol’s impact in Toronto is already being felt, there’s an a Danny Chau Ringer article going into detail

Jrue and AD do things those two can’t do.

But same goes for Mike & Marc.
