hed be unrestricted free agent.
doesnt unrestricted mean hes free to do as he pleases and Milwaukee has no claim to compensation, at all.
It's not just restricted free agents that are part of sign and trades.

If, in this hypothetical, Brook Lopez decided he wanted to go to New Orleans, but we didn't have the cap space to bring him in, we could do an S&T to send back salary to Milwaukee to make it feasible.

Problem is we are over the cap, which means we can offer the MLE at most without a sign and trade.

Considering we were staring straight into the tax for next season before flipping Graham for J Rich, there is no way for us to clear enough cap space to pay market value for Lopez without cutting the team.

Brook Lopez would be incredible for this team, but I don't see any way he fits into our salary range

But considering rim protection and 3 point shooting are 2 of our biggest weaknesses, and Brook already has experience playing with a ball dominant/non-shooting 4 next to him...man oh man. If there was a way to make it work, I'd seriously explore the possibility

Brook Lopez would have the same problem Jonas does if he came here.

Do any of you honestly think he's a better defender of the perimeter screen than JV?
He's not.
Just having Giannis and Jrue makes a huge huge difference, especially Giannis. They both cover up for Lopez being slow as shite, like JV.
And Middleton/Portis/Allen are all good defenders as well.
Their team defense is on a different level than ours, and it isn't simply b/c Brook Lopez is their center. He's probably the weakest part of their defense, and yes i know he's good at blocking shots, but it's a lot easier to block shots when the guy shooting is already trying to fight off Giannis or Jrue, and not running freely right at the rim like they do against JV and the Pels.

I assume you're not being serious. Check back with me when the All-Defensive Team final voting is announced.

Yes, there is a lot more that goes into defending screen action than just foot speed or lateral quickness. Angles, anticipation, etc. Oh, and the fact that players fear Lopez as a shot blocker

Those 2 are better than anyone on the Pels but Dyson/Herb/Jose/Naji all rate as above average to excellent perimeter defenders

Sure, one player can't make a defense by himself

Come on now. There's no shot you actually think Grayson Allen is a better defender than Brook Lopez
