John Wall go get him. A great leader on the court.

Maybe lost a step, but would be a great leader for us with our rookie coach.

Hell no his salary over next 2 yrs is 91M$, can’t take that on and give draft capital away to an injury prone player

I think they would actually have to attach draft capital to move him. Either way…we wouldn’t do it

I said awhile back that Houston would flip Wall. The Sixers are going to end up with Wall. Simmons will be in Houston. That team is going to do a massive rebuild in one season (Green, Simmons, Porter, Wood, Sengun, plus tons of others). Flipped the whole roster. It's crazy..

It almost seems like that's par for the course for Houston.

Houston has done more rebuilds in three seasons than we have done in three owners.

If you follow BayouRat's posts on this board, this isn't even mildly surprising.

I’m hindsight…..after listening to Jake’s podcast this morning I could be talked into it. I think the stipulation would be that he signs an extension for a lower yearly value after this year(which he might do, since he won’t get nearly what his last contract was).

You can send out Val, Hart, and Sato to make it work and they would actually send draft compensation. Those guys aren’t in our future plans anyway and are expiring.

There likely won’t be any free agents available next year that we would want with our cap space…let alone anyone actually signing with us. Wall signs an extension instead of opting into his player option….I don’t think it’s a terrible option.

The big rumor is he is going to the Clippers. They are sending Bledsoe, Kennard, Ibaka, $.. saves Houston money and Kennard is still young. Wall helps the Clippers while Leonard is out. Big expiring next year..

Yeah, it would be unlikely he goes to us….but I’m not sure the Clippers would be willing to offer the extension we would offer.

Leonard is projected to be back for the playoffs. The Clippers are a favorite to make a deep run. I am sure Wall would rather go to LA to a contending team with a Championship coach, than come here to a young team with a rookie coach.

Plus you would offer an extension before seeing him play and how he fits with Ingram/Zion?

He still averaged 20 points a game last year. Plus, besides Kira he would be the only pure point guard on the roster that could potentially play at an above average rate. I think we will still be searching for that player the next couple years. Which is why we went so hard after CP3 and Lowry.
