Robinson would be ideal, but he's probably getting Joe Harris type money from Miami

So Buddy for JJ and Lonzo is intriguing to me

We get a lights out shooter (not much else), Sac Town gets 2 expirings and can move Haliburton to start with Fox

And we reunite ourselves with a top 10 pick, which is pretty romantic

Think Buddy could do really well being the third banana to Zion and Ingram

Plus we still save all of our warchest of assets for other upgrades

I’d like to get Huerter

I wouldn’t be upset with buddy because his play is a big need but his contract sucks and he couldn’t start over Bog last year and honestly Halliburton is better than him already. Hes not a starter

I think Kings looking to move Buddy is a lot more feasible than Atlanta looking to move rookie contract Huerter

Kira/(possible other PG)
Buddy
BI
Zion
Adams

Buddy could easily start

His contract is bad. Do y’all think hes a negative asset at this point? I can’t see any team giving up anything of real value for him at this point.

I agree. Would love to be able to get Huerter or Kennard from the Clips, but do not see either as very likely.

I'm not saying it's a good contract, but Joe Harris is getting an average of $18 per year. Buddy's deal averages $21 because it declines some. Shooting, especially high volume, high movement, high gravity shooting, comes at a premium.

To me the deciding factor would be is Buddy seen as a negative asset around the league. You don't want a contract that big which you couldn't move if you needed to. But if it's even just neutral I think he could help a lot.

Rather have JJ and Zo than Buddy.. they are both good locker room guys while buddy isn’t. If he was cheaper I would consider it

Yes.

I also don’t trust players who lie about their age.

I was always sad we barely saw Buddy in a Pels uniform.

As an LSU fan I’ll always remember him coming up so clutch and taking over against a really talented team (before they imploded later in the year)

They used to do this every other month under an old CBA.

Rules have since changed that a player can’t return in the same season they got traded because it got abused so badly.

I want Kennard, dude isn’t “just a shooter” like JJ or even Buddy, and he can hold his own on defense. Him or Huerter would be awesome

I mean Kennard is a bigger pipe dream than Lonzo and JJ for Hield.

But in a vacuum they both make us better.

Hield is basically a neutral defender. Guys shoot around their averages with Hield guarding him, Kennard only the slightest bit better.

Ideally I’d like a guy with greater positional versatility, better defense and at least 85% of those guys shooting prowess...And were probably only going to find that in the draft.

It’s impossible to get Kennard with his poison pill contract.

You mean Harrison Barnes and Otto Porter. I'd really like to get my hands on Porter, see what he can do to close the year out, and see if we want to resign him since we won't have cap space to go find someone like that.

Buddy would without a doubt make us a better. He isn't a great defender, but you know he will at least give the effort to be good, and that's half the battle. He does the same thing offensively that JJ does, and there's only a handful of players that have done that in the last decade. JJ (last years good JJ) or Heild could play 30 minutes, take 5 shots, make 2 of them, and still have more of an impact offensively than Bonzo does when he scores 20.

Sac would not be interested in taking back JJ though. They have no need for him. They'd probably buy him out so he can go sign somewhere else. I think if we trade JJ to a team that isn't that good, it will be b/c they intend on letting him go to sign elsewhere, and is just salary filler. Other than that, he's going to Boston into the TPE.

Kennard makes $5.2M this season.
when he's traded, his outgoing value to the Clippers is $5.2M, but his incoming value to us is $13.8M.
We are both over the cap teams. So that means the Clippers can only take back $5.2M for sending him out, but we have to send out $13.8M to get him. We'd need a third team with cap space that could take on some extra salary from us.

So a trade for Kennard would have to be something like:
Bonzo or Reddick to Knicks or Hornets
Kennard to Pels
somoene making <$5M to Clippers

The Clippers can only take back $5M or less or they will go over the tax line, which they cannot b/c they are hard capped. We have to send out something close to $13.8M ( not sure how close it has to be).
Then it becomes, who would the Clippers want in return for Kennard from the Knicks or Hornets, as they are the only 2 teams with cap space that could make this happen?

Becomes much easier in a 3 or more way deal.
