With Phoenix's firing their head coach, would anyone like to see the Pels bring back McMillan?

I have been a huge proponent of bringing back since the moment he went to the Suns but in a higher role. To me, he was one of the better player development guys we had. I felt the defense took a step back this year and his departure was a huge part of that. He is very candid with fans and media with how things work behind the scenes. I would hope we can somehow bring him back on board.

I think the Pels could potentially bring Kokosov on staff if he doesn't head back to Utah.

Kokosov got his first NBA assistant coaching job from Gentry with the Clippers. He was later hired as an assistant coach in both Phoenix and Cleveland when Griffin was there.

I would think he stays because
1) Monty originally hired him so Monty would probably want to keep him in Phoenix if he takes the job.
2) He left to advance his coaching career. I'm sure the Pels would have kept him originally if they had had an opening to promote him into.

I was wondering about that when the news broke, but the Pels already sort of have 2 lead assistants. Surely he could find a better opportunity than the Pels, no?

Finch may still get a head coaching gig (Memphis?), but otherwise yes I would think he could get a lead assistant somewhere like Utah. If Finch left, I do think he would make an interesting replacement.

Why stir up this staff unless we have an opening?

Gentry’s position is tenuous so I don’t see us being someone’s preferred landing spot unless we lose Erman or Finch.

That is an interesting new option they didn’t have before. But I only remember seeing GLeague HC gets you an assistant position in the NBA like Finch and Brian Gates. Has there been much movement the other direction?

Heard nothing from BSS guys...

Just my guess.
If I am Jamelle GLeague gig might be tempting.
