Jamal Murray vs Jaylen Brown

Who would you take? Me personally I would take Murray because of his shooting ability alone.
I really want Dunn but I think he'll be off the board if we do have pick 6-7 as we are currently slotted to have.
I think 5 out of the top 6 picks will be Simmons, Ingram, Dunn, Hield, and Bender in no particular order outside of Simmons and Ingram being 1-2.
So, if it does come down to Murray or Brown who do you take? Or, do you take somebody else?
Simmons, Ingram, Dunn, Murray, Hield, and Brown all fit position of need and I am 90% confident we end up with one of these guys unless we trade back.

it's Jamal Murray by a city mile...
Jaylen Brown needs to go back to school, and learn to shoot.
He plays like Tyreke, and that is not the kind of starter that we need.
Ingram/Simmons/Hield/Dunn/Bender/Murray in that order...
If we are picking 7, and those 6 are gone... we take Jakob Poeltl over Jaylen Brown.
We might even take Poeltl over Murray at 6...

Tyreke and brown do not have comparable games. Not even close

This is all tilting at windmills. I found Demps's Summer To Do List:
Step 1- trade 2016 1st, and 2017 top 3 protected pick to Phoenix for Brandon Knight.
Step 2- sign Brandon Jennings this summer
Step 3- bring back Anderson and Perkins
Step 4- sign Roy Hibbert. Every NBA team in 2016 needs 4 slow centers
Step 5- ???? (catastrophic injuries)
Step 6- rehearse "we just dont know about this core yet." I keep my job another year.

Murray defends like Kevin Martin

quote:James Anderson is RotoWire's Lead Prospect Analyst:

"For those who don’t live on the west coast and like to go to bed at a reasonable time, Jaylen Brown may not be a household name. He will be soon, however. Six weeks ago I wrote about Jaylen Brown and while I liked his athleticism, I wasn’t sold on his offensive game ever getting to the point where he was an asset on that end of the court. He essentially looked like Tyreke Evans, who is a solid player when he’s healthy, but is not the kind of player a winning NBA franchise would covet."
or
"Marcus Smart, Gordon Hayward and Tyreke Evans were the only players drafted in the top 10 recently with comparable three-point percentages. Smart and Evans were far superior at creating with the ball in their hands."
You can call him Jason Richardson 2.0 if you like... I don't want him either...
Jaylen is a drive and create for himself player without a shot... and limited defense.
He's an athlete, but not a basketball player...yet. This is his final four:
Tyreke had a better handle, and contributed more in assists and steals as you would expect a combo guard to do..... but the minutes Jaylen has gotten at SF should have definitely upped his rebound total... it didn't.
Jaylen @ Cal: Career: 34 G, 14.6 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 2.0 APG
Tyreke @ Memphis: Career: 37 G, 17.1 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 3.9 APG
If he is the only one there, you take Poeltl or trade the pick.

You need Boston to stay in front of Phoenix, and for us to not fall lower than 6.
AS IS, if we get a chalk lottery…
Dragan Bender to Celtics leaves a good shot for Jaylen Brown to Phoenix…
Leaving us with one of Murray/Dunn/Hield at 6.
You start throwing monkey wrenches into that ball machine, and things get screwy in a hurry.
If we end up picking at 7, with a choice between Jaylen Brown or Jakob Poeltl… we take Poeltl.
Or, I can’t believe I’m about to say this… Timothe Luwawu. It’s NEVER Jaylen Brown.

That's still dumb comparisons. He said nothing about how his game compares other than neither can shoot coming out of college. If that's the case then buddy heild is comparable to curry.

I can see the similarities with my own eyes..
I was just giving you a quote so you can see that other people have mentioned it...
And some shockingly similar stats...
You bring up another fun topic, because Buddy's single season is actually better than any of Steph's at Davidson, and he did it with a strength of schedule rating of +11.14. Steph's was -3.13. It's truly amazing.
BUT, Buddy is also 2 years older than Steph was, and his proficiency has come as if from nowhere... Charting upwards far faster and better than anyone ever expected... Good for him!
Steph had that same level of production all 3 years at Davidson. It's truly nuts to think that he was performing that well at 18 years old, and putting those numbers up mostly from the Point guard position. More than DOUBLING Buddy's assist totals.
I hope Buddy can continue to grow his game. He is probably more JJ Reddick than Steph Curry... but again, I watch them AND look at stats.

I'm curious as to how you think they compare. You can't compare people by what they can't do, it's more about what they can do.

I'd still take Murray. He would be shining in Boston too.

Trolling PCT? You’d take Murray over a guy who’s proven it in the playoffs at the toughest position to find in basketball?
