K well, if they believe they can get KD and Kyrie to go along with AD you are most definitely wrong.
They are instant title contenders in the East with that.
With Zion they are 3-5 years away at best.

If NY is able to trade for AD and sign Durant and another star, they instantly become legitimate title contenders. The Knicks are not going to punt on a chance to win a championship at the expense of multiple years of their new superstars to develop Zion.

Yea I'd trade AD to the Knicks if they landed one or two. It'll almost be a certainty that Kyrie goes to NY if AD is there and the Celtics don't make the EC finals after going last year when he didn't play...
Too many variables to know anything until the Playoffs and lotto shakes out esp with the east teams.

It depends on the path the team wants to take and their timeframe. I ask because I am trying to figure out if anyone outside of maybe the Knicks would consider it.

I wouldnt trade Zion for Davis.I dont care what yall think it may or may not bring. Zion is the most special player since Lebron to come out. So I am going to pass on that to bring in a soft superstar in AD and a weirdo like Kyrie. No thanks.

I think all of the people that believe Zion is untradeable are only looking at it through a "this is how I personally value Zion in the NBA" perspective. What they are not considering is New York and Los Angeles' specific situation of being raging dumpster fires for the better part of the last decade at least. They also are not considering that a rebuild around Zion will take 3-4 years and no Max Veteran will be swayed by Zion being on the roster.
Remember that even as far ahead of schedule as AD was as a rookie, he didn't finish games. The first thing LeBron did when he got to Cleveland and now Los Angeles was try to trade the promising kids for proven veterans. The Knicks cleared 2 Max slots to get 2 Max worthy free agents. AD will help them achieve that goal and Zion will not.

And i have season tickets right behind pels bench so yes Id love to have Zion on this team. Would be the greatest thing. Just dont think it happens.

Well you might be right because the Knicks chances of getting the #1 are pretty small in the grand scheme of things.
But IF the Knicks get the #1 pick, it will be traded for AD.

AD was a better prospect than Zion. If you listen to David Griffin at all, GM's have some reservations with Zion because he is so unique. 285lbs landing from 40" night in and night out is the most worrisome thing about Zion. The torque he generates scares GM's from a physiological standpoint. He also lacks a real shot and length.

If the knicks are 100 percent sure it would get them KD, Kyrie and Davis yeah i could see that. Kyrie, Davis and a Jimmy Butler type player. No way they pull on that. Is that team even better going forward than the bucks with their chemistry? Or the raptors since Kawhi has said hes interested in resigning? Ive watched to much of Kyrie and Davis last five years in league to think those two would carry a team to a finals.

People get caught up in the hype, but Zion is a 6'6" PF that weighs 285 lbs.
He is an amazing athlete with so many positive attributes that you have to take him, but there is also some considerable risk there.

Zion doesn't attract KD and Kyrie. AD does.

What's funny to me is that I don't even think it's debatable for NYK. It's AD. You don't punt on a chance to run off multiple championships because you think a prospect might be good enough to lead you to multiple titles down the road. That being said, it would be a total Knicks move to punt on AD and keep Zion, relegating them to conference finals at best.

Has there even been anything concrete linking these players to New York. I get they moved Kristaps but we are talking about the knicks here. Safe to say it wouldnt be the first time they have struck out.

Both KD and Kyrie have been rumored to NYK for months.
The Knicks have cleared out room for 2 max spots and can add a 3rd via trade (AD) if the right pieces go out.
They didn't do that to go for Zion and a bunch of no ones.
They are shooting for the stars.

There a lot of people who believe KD is a lock to NY. He has recent real estate purchases there. His business operations are opening an office there. The Knicks have recently partnered with businesses in which he has a stake. There are a lot of connections.

Or they just understand they have 13 percent chance to even land Zion so they arent putting all there eggs in that basket.

His hair is pouffed to make him look 6'8".
I wonder what you could get for him if you get the #1 ball?
I would deal down to #2 morant, and get another #1 for next year.
Similar to Luka for Trae and another #1 in this 2019 draft.
