He was just waived by Phoenix. Could he handle the PG duties better than Frazier?

Theres rumblings Dallas is looking to trade Wes Mathews or buy him out, I would rather Dell be on the phone with them

One miniature pg is enough.

If Matthews is trying to push his way out that means the Mavs could be on the verge of seeing the writing on the wall and becoming sellers. 4 way trade

Pels - Harrison Barnes, Dwayne Dedmon
Mavs - Otto Porter, Jason Smith, Cheick Diallo
Wiz - Nikola Mirotic, Kent Bazemore
Hawks - Solomon Hill, Wes Matthews, Pels 1st

Pels get their SF and move off of Hill
Mavs swap out Barnes who could walk for nothing with a similar tier SF in Porter who's under contract for longer.
Wiz get the change they need
Hawks get a 1st for Bazemore

Pels are still thin at PG, and now PF, so maybe you move some other pieces to bring in someone like Barea in addition to Dedmon. But you keep Wesley Johnson and Moore so it's a pretty solid top 9-10 if you can find a backup point.

Payton/Clark
Jrue/Moore/Jackson
Barnes/Johnson
AD/Miller
Randle/Dedmon

Maybe not, but we could possibly aquire wes for cheap for our SF spot, then go after a PG to shore that area up

The Wiz make out like bandits in this scenario.

Then again, here's Tjarks on the ringer

Dallas is one of the hottest teams in the league, but there are structural issues with its roster that could put a damper on the team’s success sooner rather than later

The west is just a mess right now

And I really don't think Cuban wants to hit the reset button. Judging by the downvotes a lot of people don't like the 4way I came up with, and maybe the Wizards need to send something else out like Satoransky to the Pels, but it gives every team what they're looking for which is usually hard to do in a 4 team trade.

I don't like giving up Niko and a 1st and only getting back a half year rental of Barnes.
If Niko is going out, then i'm not giving up a 1st, even with Solo going to the Hawks. Yeah Solo sucks, and Bazemore is better, but the Hawks don't deserve a 1st, at least from us, for that trade.
If we got back a young player, Oubre, Sato, Bembry, i'd be ok with giving up the 1st.

What I proposed was a framework where the salaries work and all 4 teams get more or less what they're looking for. I can see adding a Frazier for Sato swap and ATL sending out Bembry too, although you may not get Dedmon if you get Bembry.

Don't see Dallas throwing in the towel yet. They have been playing well lately.

He's too short to go inside on a driving layup.

He can't defend particularly well.

If you need a guy to hit a 3 to end the game, he's ok.

Niko straight up is not a good deal for Barnes. What do you ppl see in him? His shot is flat and he's mediocre from 3.
His boards are under 5 per game. Assists under 2.
