It’s a tough time of year sports wise. At least football will be heating up in a month or so and I’m sure we will hear of the Pelican’s team building activities too soon like we did with Nashville last year. Just gotta hang on 3-4 more weeks lol.

Not gonna lie drafting Bronny with the Lakers pick that he caused them to trade would be funny.

I seriously doubt Griff wants to deal with LeBron again.

I draft Bronny ofc.
Much more jersey sales, attractiveness and seats taken to watch Pels matches if Lebron is a Pel.

A small market like the Pels needs this kind of player, even for just one year.

Klutch is gonna pick a team with a bunch of their players under contract and force them to draft the kid if he’s in danger of not catching on in the nba.

I know people are only really considering Bronny as a NBA prospect because of who his dad is, but even so, do you think Bronny wants to play with his dad? I wonder if he feels that way but is to scared to say it or if he understands that teams would only want him in order to get Lebron so he accepts it.

He's barely a top 50 recruit.

He's definitely not nearly good enough to go directly into the NBA out of high-school and he's not a one and done in college either.

Yeah we don’t have one of those jersey movers on the roster.
No one with endless endorsements
Or a signature shoe.

The reality is some of you want front running fans around. I don’t.

Are you thinking about Zion i guess ?
Zion even wasn't in top 5 of jersey sales and the Pels wasn't in top 10 in 2021 (the season where Zion has many played games) : sales

Same thing in 2020 ( not even in top 15)...Zion was very hyped before his draft yet : 2020

Lebron was already number 1 during his rookie season...

Clearly an other world right now.

a pretty convincing argument to draft bronny in the late 1st round, and trade him to the lakers

quote:

But what if you have, say, the 26th pick? You’d be getting a legitimate prospect—maybe not the 26th-best player in the draft, but roughly one of the top 50. Teams have made worse decisions! And on top of that, you’d be the front-runner to sign LeBron James. And if you have the 26th pick in the draft, you probably just made the playoffs. Bronny can develop without having to play right away, and LeBron might be the piece your team needs to become a real title contender. Worst-case scenario? LeBron decides he doesn’t want to sign with your team, and you get to trade Bronny to the Lakers for way more than he’s worth.

obviously, the 2024 pels/lakers 1st round pick situation will be a juicy topic of conversation. IF the lakers have a 2024 1st there should be no doubt that they'd take lebron's kid, especially if that pick is outside the lottery for whatever reason. and if it is outside the lottery there should be no reason not to defer to 2025

but that's the pelicans' call to make. maybe there's a way to extract one more asset from the lakers to ensure a deferral to 2025

might be very good "trade bait" to LA

outside of Lebron, what do they really have that you'd want in return?? hell, they'd have to start trading away picks almost a decade in the future at this point, considering they don't have much left in the 2020's to trade

If lebron makes drafting his son a requirement for his continued employment in LA, they will do whatever it takes to get their 2024 pick from us.

in another year they’ll be able to trade their 2030 pick. If the lakers come and offer to give us that 2030 pick for a deferral to 2025, you take it if the lakers 2024 is out of the lottery

When you miss time as a young player you don’t sell a lot.

But if your argument is jersey sales to bring LeBron in, that’s mighty weak.
