I don't mind the Hornets at this point. I've gotten used to it.

If they were to change I could go with the Brass or even Creole if they handled it right.

Never liked Creole as a team name. Just sounds dumb.

As a former season ticket holder for the hockey team, I love the name Brass. If Benson gets the team he can change the colors to black and gold.

The Saints and the Brass, both wearing black and gold. Would work.

If it changes to anything the Krewe looks like a hands down winner to me. It's both uniquely New Orleans and youth friendly with the incorrect spelling. That means lots of jersey sales.

Still like Brass better but I think Krewe would be cool. Both would be a huge upgrade over Hornets IMO.

Considering you have possibly the most corrupt "Brass" in the first world, I have a problem with the name. I know that's not the way we all mean it, but it's setting yourself up for a lot of punchlines.

Think about it:

New Orleans Brass...The best shooters in the South
New Orleans Brass...Watch your arse
New Orleans Brass...Danziger
New Orleans Brass...Beating arse on Bourbon Street

Didn't mean to offend VOR. Don't know why, I just don't like that one. But, at least it is unique.

That's why I don't like Krewe or Blues. Other teams with those names might cause confusion.

Out of what I've read I like:

Brass
Blues
Krewe

I highly doubt the name will change. I actually dont mind the Hornets name with the Fleur de Bee (the logo, not the name of the logo), NOLA logo, and font we use. I do, however, absolutely LOATHE calling the Hornets the "Bees." SO DAMN STUPID!

Agreed, I think that logo is one of the best in sports.

Again, agreed. Also, when they keep calling the arena the Hive. Hornets live in a Nest!

I'm trying to pull together the old threads so we can get a solid list of all the names that have been mentioned.

Threads:
Rebranding Possibilities

Would you want the new owner to rebrand the team?

Here are some of mine from the second thread:

Privateers (base it off of the legend of Jean Lafitte)
Revelers (Mardi Gras, of course)
Rhythm
Creole (Make our diversity a draw...)
River Pilots (Say it a few times, it actually has a decent ring)
Survivors (better than The Flood)
