It says the main investor has Louisiana ties not the ex player/gm/coach.

If you reread the article it says:

quote:

The main organizer of this group was a player, head coach, GM, and has served in several other NBA roles throughout his 30 plus year basketball career.

But the main investor:

quote:

The main investor has previous family ties to the region and intends to move here permanently.

So you're saying this could actually be Larry Bird?

Yeah, I read it wrong at first. There's some Ray Wooldridge insider that pops up on the board every few months and he keeps saying Wooldridge is interested. He worked with Reed before, so Wooldridge and Reed being the national group with NBA and LA connections makes sense.

Nope.. its Dunleavy

@GerrityJoe: For those wondering, the third Hornets ownership group I've identified is headed by Mike Dunleavy sr.

Whoa...

He's totally tainted by the Clippers experience. But, if he would remains "hands off," I'd be down.

Which part of that experience, coaching or as GM?

Either way, I give anyone associated with the Clip Show a bit of a pass because Sterling is that much of a racist tightwad idiot.

Speculation from Gerrity is that the money man behind Dunleavy is Adam Dell, although he says it's pure speculation.

Apologies, my source that told me Dunleavy was present is now saying that it was just one of the beer salesmen.

That is just so unbelievably perfect. It was Dunleavy. Oops, sorry, just a beer salesman. Awesome sources.

There are several sources that it was in fact Dunleavy at the game tonight.
