Graham was not plan A, but Given the eventual price tag for literally all of those guys, I’m happy with Graham. It’s not a game breaking move, but it gives us flexibility to pull off a bigger move down the line. We’d have been a bit hamstrung investing something like $30M for Lowry or $40M for Paul

in isolation, Graham at sub-12M is great. he's a great option for a bench scorer and injury fill in at the point on a good team

yeah i wasn't cheerleading either of those options, either

It feels like Griff is playing NBA2K and just proposing deals until the AI accepts.

or you can see it as we had one plan, it didn't come to fruition, and Griffin panicked.

Why do you keep saying this? What transpired yesterday is the absolute opposite of “panicking”

Giving up the 1st for Graham allows us to still have the flexibility to sign a 20M and 10M player. had you not, you’re probably having to do a 16-18M/year deal to get him out of there.

All the flexibility we want is still there. Our name was in EVERY FA conversation there was to be had yesterday. Paul was never leaving, Lowry had Butler pulling him to Miami.
After that? Dinwiddie and Powell? You’d be happy throwing panic crazy money at them? Not me.

Singles are fine but it needs to lead to a base clearing homer. That's what we're all waiting for right? A great player in a trade or a draft pick that turns into something special.

The move that really showcases why griff is a great gm and why Gayle put him up to bat.

I think the only way to build this franchise is through the draft and a few singles and doubles every offseason. If people are waiting for us to bring in some big time FA, they are going to be disappointed. Everyone outside of Giannis is teaming up on the same 2-4 teams every season in hopes of getting a ring. And those teams are large markets and/or preferred destinations. New Orleans is not and most likely will never be a preferred destination. New Orleans has to go the Utah / Milwaukee route. You have your superstar that you drafted, now you do everything you can to surround him with b and c players that fit exactly what he needs so he can carry the team over the hump.

Any updates from Shammit’s pondering last night? If we can S&T Hart and a couple of seconds for Buddy, I’d feel pretty good about the roster
