Well the good thing is only a handful of teams are capable of defending him with a trailing shot blocker. For next season, it’s imperative that Griffin find a 3&D stretch 5 to pair with Zion.

Zion knows teams will start throwing double teams at him, that's the only way to stop him unless you have Giannis...

All he cares about is winning, if we win he don't care if he only gets 2 shots

Can you name one offensive superstar in the history of the nba that would be satisfied with (2 shots plus a win) all the while being utilized as a decoy the whole game? I mean maybe being a decoy for one game. But that’s all I’ll give you.

The thing is, when facing Zone or double, the ball needs to enter to him initially. Need to focus on playing an inside out game, draw those doubles and exploit the mismatch.

are you really this retarded? That doesn’t make Zion a decoy... it’s taking advantage of them doubling him and finding open guys on the perimeter to make shots. You do that consistently and then they’ll stop doubling Zion making it easier for him to score and do what he does best. It’s common sense

See, that's the problem

Guys like you already calling him a superstar..

I know I will get downvoted a bunch here, but Zion has a ways to go before he hits superstar status with his play.. He needs to learn some new moves, get his jumpshot going, and work on his ball control where he quits turning it over so much..

That's not even getting into his defensive deficiencies..

That's all stuff that comes with time, we wont see peak Zion for a couple years

The league adjusts quickly to what you want to do, that's why its imperative to have counters. Zion is 6'6 and gravity, along with the internet, is undefeated. The NBA is full of 6'10+ bruisers more than happy to mug him. After the last couple of games of trying to post Zion constantly, they moved him around a little more tonight. Need to see more of that.

Zion handles the ball and passes well and can handle running action on the wing and the high post. Until he becomes a bit more proficient on his outside shot this is the best way to get him space. Everyone loves his game because of his talent, physical attributes and intensity but the NBA is just as much a game of skill as a game of will.

The label “superstar” doesn’t even matter. What matters is he is by far the most effective and efficient offensive weapon on the team. And frankly it’s not close. In any other sport he would have earned the “go to guy” status by this point but we are stuck in 1st gear because we have to respect hero iso ball 2-17 Ingram who can’t pass the ball into the post off a dribble drive if his life depended on it.

The “scoring just dunks and layups at record breaking rates doesn’t equal greatness or warrant stardom crowd” has their champion voice. Shaq was never really one of the greatest basketball players ever because “muh dunks and layups.” Meanwhile everyone and their grandma can hit a corner three these days. But that’s “pure basketball”
