Pretty much why I find it funny the posters on here that keep saying he will be a bust. You can tell the kid has that business attitude with the need to get better.
The complete opposite of Jax’s sorry arse.
And realize Dyson is 4.5 years younger than Herb Jones and Jones has no offensive game. Dyson is so far more advanced than Herb was at this point, and if you like Herb at all you should be giddy for Dyson. He could very well surpass Herb in all facets this season. He already has a hit list of max players he checked as a 19 year

Dyson is one of those guys you can kinda just tell will be something by watching them play, even if they aren't really "good" yet.
His IQ is off the charts

Excluding bigs, I think that we will have two of the top five defenders in the league this year in Herb and Dyson. You throw in 20 minutes of GTA, and we're the team that no guard or wing in the NBA wants to play against.

It's hard to see the value of using the #8 pick on Dyson w/ Herb already breaking out if we were going all in w/ our current core. Their skills are redundant and they're not playable together w/ their current offensive abilities. Unfortunately, Dyson really hasn't any scoring ability whatsoever. We don't really have enough shooting even w/ Hawkins to help Dyson run a formidable bench unit.
However, their wasn't much of a home run available at 8. Jalen Williams obviously now but that was a reach when the Thunder took them. I liked Dieng but he's more of a crapshoot than Dyson, but he at least looked like he had scoring ability you could build on compared to Dyson who's just a floater and not much else.

Not when the rest of the team is meh-bad on defense.

The Pels best stretches last year happened when good defense lead to offense. Herb and Dyson played 253 minutes together last year and had a NetRtg of 5.4. The offense wasn't good, a 106.3 ORtg, but the defense was fantastic with a 100.9 DRtg. LINK

You don't have to play them together. As long as Herb and Dyson have at least one of CJ/BI/Zion/Trey on the court with them, they'll be ok.

this is something that is always said, good defense leads to good offense.
but something i think that gets overlooked a lot is bad offense leads to easy buckets for the other team, and we've been terrible when it comes to fast break points and points off turnovers over the last few years.
You can have that lower offensive rating and be successful if you aren't gifting the other team easy buckets off turnovers and stupid shots, and you have a chance to set up your defense and defend at a higher level. If that lower offensive rating is b/c you simply have a lower FG% b/c of the personnels shooting skills, then you can still win games with hard nosed defense. It does you no good to have a 120 ORtg if you can't defend worth a shite and have a DRtg of 125. There's obviously a fine balance between the two.

I think we have been looking at his development wrong during this summerleague. I don't think they're trying to box him in and develop him in a way where he's only getting reps of things he'll need to be good at during the regular season as a role guy.
I think they are trying to develop him into something bigger than that and it's going to take time before he will put it all together.
After last night's game, I finally realized it. It's not about the shooting or even the percentages. It's about building his confidence up and promote aggression. We have to remember last season where he lost all confidence and was afraid to shoot and score. It also affected his confidence as the ball handler. They're trying to get him to understand that it's okay to miss shots and make mistakes as long as he's staying aggressive and take what defenses give him while being confident in his ability.
I think he needs to build that mental toughness before the shot comes. I think if we see a consistently aggressive and assertive Daniels this season, we would be very happy with his progression.

Zero chance Milwaukee takes that deal.
I’m basing Milwaukee thinking about it on 3 factors.
1) Giannis has already started talking about retirement.
2) Jrue is talking about retirement.
3) That roster is VERY expensive and as a small market team the repeater tax is about to start killing them. They will have no choice but to break that team up soon.

I'd love to hear your Jokic package that would make Denver trade him.
This one would be alot harder because Denver doesn’t have the repeater tax hitting them yet and they’re fresh off a championship, but if they get something ridiculous like Luka, Giannis and 20 1sts then I bet they consider it.
