Some of us were stuck watching the Laker suckoff that was ESPN last night. Who has cliffs?

The Lakers deserve a little sucking off for the moves they made. They made their team ALOT better. They knew their weaknesses and addressed them with complimentary role players. I hate those frickers as much as anyone but they will likely be a 6th seed. Unless we get a healthy Zion back, we are looking on the verge of Play in territory.

With the easiest schedule remaining, and the Lakers having a tough stretch upcoming, and already being 5 games under .500, I just don't see it with 23 games left.

You think the Lakers are "likely" to go 17-6 going forward? Because that is likely at least what it'll take for them to get to the 6 seed.

That's not even getting into how Lebron is legit injured with the foot thing he has going on that is rumored that it wont' get it better til offseason surgery.

He complained/was condescending to the refs A LOT. There was a bad stretch of foul calls there and Griff commented on every single one of them. He is definitely one of us.

I don't really like the "easiest schedule" bs. When you actually look at the teams on the schedule, we are playing mostly teams who will be fighting hard for a playoff spot. It's going to be a dogfight. The schedule certainly ain't easy and we're going to need to be at our absolute best to win those games. That's for sure.

When teams hand you shite for pennies on the dollar it's easy to improve your roster.

It's not BS, it's literally wins and losses. When comparing to other teams, it makes a difference. Yes some of them will be fighting for playoffs because they are not in the top 6. So would you rather play a top 6 team? It cuts both ways.

I didn't say it was "easy" but more so it's the "easiest" schedule left in the NBA judging by record. It's simple math.

Also Griff talked about the hamstring and how common it is, mentioning Bookers injuries. Taking subtle jabs at refs, but also calling it down the middle on Pels fouls(in game). Team playing flat in the first.

Yeah, nothing groundbreaking

I think the biggest one to me is still that Dyson is basically healthy and should play first game after the Break. Joel/AD talking about he looks basically 100% in practice now. Which don’t think they would be that confident if they weren’t confident. Since with Zion Griff was making sure to point out the difficulty of timelines with hamstrings and how finicky they can be. But hoping(but not guaranteeing) to get him back enough to ramp up for (hopefully) a playoff push

Other than that some anecdotes about the trade deadline and how active it is for them. How Trajan pulled together the Josh Richardson trade and why they like the fit better than Graham(more size, more complimentary, just a better fit for what we need with his ability to guard more positions).

I think Lebron being out/potentially hobbled the rest of the season + only 23 games makes it difficult to see the Lakers climb too high

But I do agree they killed it at the deadline. Might cost them long term(probably will if they can’t sign Kyrie), but I think they basically improved every area they had issues with.

I keep seeing how we have such an easy schedule left; but I'm not really buying it because the toughest part of it is the first two weeks after the All-Star Break when we're pretty assured of not having Zion. That part worries me; the easier part is towards the end which will be great if we can navigate the first two weeks. But with how inconsistent we have looked recently, I'm worried we may be back in 11th or 12th when we finally start seeing Houston and San Antonio.

I don’t know, there was narrative from national media pundits when we were rolling about how BI fits in…

And Griff is saying it’s his team and he needs to be better at leading Zion.

That was interesting and I posted about it in the game thread.

I sat by him one game and was giving the refs the business and Griff just turned around and shook his head in agreement.
