Myles turner and Colin Sexton are still my wants. Other than that SGA is the only other player I’d want to make a big splash for but it’s highly doubtful. I’m saying this assuming we won’t get a Jokic, Embid, etcc

If we are going in to the tax anyway would you rather keep Graham and pay the tax or take the 27 mil from DG, Jax, Temple, and Kira for a legit contending piece?

For next season all bets all off when the tax comes into play but that doesn't affect them this season so I don't expect them to push for moves if it doesn't improve the team.

We don’t have that 27 mil to add on the salary if we don’t trade Jax, Graham, and Kira this year. You have to make those deals before you are in the tax. It certainly does affect this season. This season we have 27 mil of trade able salary. Next year we have essentially 0.

Jax and Temp are gone so erase 12 mil that we could use instantly. Then you are left with 17 mil from Kira/ DG and we are already paying the tax. Then we can’t take back the same salary because you can only take salary that’s under the tax I believe.

All of that will be looked at and handled in the offseason. I don't see any reason why they "have" to make those moves now.

I just explained why. The offseason doesn’t help us free up the same amount of salary. We only have that salary while those players count against our cap. Temp/ Jax won’t. And we can’t trade players to stay in the tax. That trade has to happen before we go into the tax. Or we go in the tax for DG.

That's not true. You seem to think there's only one way to do it but Griff has proven he can move contracts like it's water if he really wanted to.

We lose 12 mil of cap space by not making a move this year. Yes we could find a way to trade DG/ Kira next year. But why go into the tax to keep those guys and take back around 18 mil when we can do the same thing now and take back up to 27 mil? We are limiting ourselves by doing that AND paying the tax in the process.

Why would you assume they have to take back big enough contracts in a trade to be over the line? There are several paths to get where they need to be without going into the start of next season in the lux. If there's one thing I won't question this front office on, it's their cap management and their ability to move contracts when they need to.

It’s interesting to note how we spent last season complaining about Graham’s tendency to take shots off the dribble, and how poor he was at it. This season, he’s almost all but cut that out of his game. Only 4% of his threes are not assisted on, which obviously means 96% of his threes are assisted on. A lot loss dribble pull-ups, and a lot more spot ups.

Why would either of them get traded at this point?

Devonte is exactly who he is. You throw him out there when he's got a hot hand and take him out when he's struggling. This team has the depth at the position to be able to sit him through his tough stretches. If a team wants to overpay for him, then do the deal. But in no way is he a detriment to this team to where he needs to be moved. Jaxson though...

There are not that many paths no.

We are 7.5 over the tax.

Replace Temple/ Jax with small contracts from Liddell/ Matkovich and they still would = around 5 mil or Temples contract.

A lottery pick immediately puts us over the tax. Even if you take out Kira’s salary we are most likely in the tax with a lotto pick. There isn’t a way we stay under the tax if we keep Graham’s salary. So if we are going in the tax anyway I’d rather take the extra 10-20 mil we have and upgrade.

Getting excited about a 2 game sample space against the G League Warriors and a bottom 3 Spurs team is ridiculously silly and setting yourself up for major disappointment

I don’t know what teams he’s playing has to do with him making shots. He gets a lot of open looks whether it’s a shitty team or a good team.

Whatever you are saying is irrelevant to the fact that he’s making his shots at a higher %.

It’s also irrelevant to his actual shot selection that has helped his shooting abilities. Playing certain teams doesn’t change that.
