saying you prefer that team isn't a PR quote. A PR quote would be "Phoenix is a fine organization and I'd love to be here if NOLA does not match the offer"

the man flat out said his heart is in that city after visiting there for one fricking day

He can take the qualifying offer OR sign an offer sheet with another team and open up the possibility of the Hornets matching. Can't do both.

So do the Hornets look to sign CP3 now?

If Gordon didn't really make the comment about prefering Phoenix over New Orleans, he'll clarify ASAP.

What is EG supposed to say? "i would like to announce I'm signing this max deal to force the team I'm with to sign me to a max deal"
Nola is such a better situation than phoenix its not even funny.

that's what I'm saying. He can choose to play for one year in NOLA for the 5 mill and become an URFA after this season if he doesn't want a long term deal with NO.

Well if he really means it, you know what could change his mind quick? Winning. If Davis is the real deal and we can make it to the playoffs consistently then he has no reason to want to bolt unless the organization treats him like shite.

according to someone on HR, his brother current plays for ASU, which could be a factor?

Gordon is such a whiny bitch.

Sign and Trade with Phoenix. Get what you can. Have another strong draft and then use the money that would have been spent on him on a player/players who want to be here and don't have piss poor attitudes because God forbid they have to play in New Orleans for millions of dollars of year.

Oh yeah, I'm mad

"After visiting the Suns, the impression the organization made on me was incredible," Gordon said in a prepared statement. "Mr. Sarver, Lon Babby, Lance Blanks, the front office staff and Coach Gentry run a first-class organization, and I strongly feel they are the right franchise for me. Phoenix is just where my heart is now."

Take that for what it's worth.

Or he doesn't like New Orleans and doesn't want to play there.

But his brother wont be at ASU forever. I think he is just forcing the Hornets hand with this one. Sign an offer sheet with a team who has NO assets and force them to match.

His brother's going into his senior year so that'd be a stupid reason.
