I'm not just saying this because i'm a homer and he wore the purple and gold. I truly think this kid will be a good NBA point guard. I think he can put up Chris Paul type numbers. We would be a great back up PG.

If he is impressing people at the combine, chances are he won’t be available at the tail end of the draft.

Yeah, that is a good point. He isn't currently any many of the mocks. A lot of reports are saying he could start to sneak into the end of round 2 in new mocks. Either way, if he is there we need to get him. I also like Carsen Edwards with our 39 pick. It will be tricky because if pass on Edwards at 39 in hopes of getting Tre at 57, we may lose out on both.

He’s just too small to be a true impact high minute player. He will get destroyed defensively.

However he really is quick enough and a great enough scorer to have a role of some kind in the league. I’d waste a 2nd on him.

I could definitely see him leading a 2nd team. I know his height will be an obstacle, but he just has "it"

Ball handling and 3 pt shot alone is very worth it in today's Game

Thats what they said coming out of high school too.... I know its NBA. But the kid knows how to manipulate defenders on offense and hes a pest on D.

I wouldnt expect him to be an All Star but his shooting and vision on offense is worth the chance

Like i said previously, i think Waters can do what Chris Paul has done in the NBA.

College Stats

Waters
PPG - 15.6
AST - 5.9
TOV - 3.2
STL - 2.5

Paul
PPG - 15.0
AST - 6.3
TOV - 2.7
STL - 2.5

NBA Measurables

Waters

Height - 5'9.5"
Wingspan - 6'2.25"
Vertical - 40.5"

Paul

Height - 5'11.75"
Wingspan - 6'4.25"
Vertical - 38.5"

One thing that stood out to me when looking over their college numbers...Chris Paul shot 45% from 3 in college.

As a bandwagoner, in the process of learning the roster. Is Jrue a viable option at a full time SG? I see on his basketball reference page that he's interchangeable between that and PG.

He has pretty much been a SG for us the past few seasons, as he plays better off-ball than as point and he can defend a PG, SG, or SF.

IMO, Jrue is better off the ball. So, yes i would say he is a very viable option at full time SG. I would love to go get Kemba Walker for our PG.

The issue with Kemba is how his game will change as he ages.

He’ll hit the wall at some point and the question is exactly how bad he will be with X seasons at $30m plus left to go.

That's a good point.

What's your thoughts on Rubio?

Your right, i might have gotten a little ahead of myself with the comparison.

I think Waters can be a good PG in the NBA, regardless of his size.

Im down, or Tacko Fall. To take a chance on a GIANT like that in the second round is the exact type of chances you take in the second round, or a midget like waters

Nothing particularly special, especially compared to the hype when he got drafted, but he is competent and on a somewhat reasonable contract.

I’m sure that is undercutting his qualities but he comes off as “boring but practical.” He will keep you in games, he won’t break them open for you.
