Bridges would fill the defensive role of Herb and provide 3 point shooting. Claxton can be our rim running big that we needed. Would be perfect fits for us. We could send off Herb and JV somewhere else or later on as they won't be needed

I'd be dissapointed if Griffin isn't on the phone now with the Nets

It really is a great starting 5

Then you have whoever is left of Nance/Dyson/Trey/Herb/Jose/Jonas/Naji off the bench.

There wouldn't be a team in the league we couldn't find an advantage with.

And suddenly all those kick outs to Herb end up in the hands of a 40% catch and shoot guy.

I was all for holding on to the lakers picks but truth is they got bailed out yesterday and they are a better team. There’s even rumblings of AD being traded for a nice package as well. Now is the time to get off them picks

I worry a bit about Claxton being too small in a lot of matchups. For example, the Pelicans pummel the guy. But for good matchups, he can be extremely effective. Bridges is fantastic and signed to a good contract. And Willie knows him. We should absolutely make that call.

Ideally you would keep around someone like Billy who can bang with guys in certain matchups, but playoff basketball leans toward small ball unless it's Jokic or Embiid on the other team.

Claxton is a huge beneficiary in 90% of matchups.

This is the move to make.

Graham + JV + Herb + Naji makes the money work.

Keep adding picks till they say yes.

Claxton is 6'11 he's not too small. He's averaging 3.2 stocks per game. He provides switchability and rim protection. Like a supercharged larry nance. Don't over think this, claxton would take our defense to the next level

Agreed. You really can’t defend guys like Embiid and Jokic. But the other 90%, you def can. Also, we be able to play at a much faster pace which is effective against guys like Jokic and Embiid.

And why would the Nets want to trade either one?

Tanking doesn’t do them any good at all.

Well Denver is one of the teams we are trying to beat. And it’s more than just guarding the top guys. If we are trying to beat Memphis, Steven Adams is going to push Nic around the court. Don’t get me wrong, I would take him and we would be better for it IMO. Add bridges too and we could probably run Adams right off the court. Just going to have some frustrating moments with rebounding and big centers.

Everyone keeps saying this, but is there any indication the Nets are interested in trading either?

Like Bronc said, keeping Billy becomes really helpful in that scenario so there is at least one big body on the bench.

He isn't small in terms of height. He is small in terms of girth.

Nobody is guarding Embiid or Jokic. Claxton gets blocks but those guys are too big for him. BUT he is much more athletic than JV…I can see us turning into a huge get-out-in-transition team, rim running, etc. play fast and wear out those big guys

It actually does this year as they own their pick, Houston only has swap rights this year.
