"With their complete roster," a league source told ESPN about the Pels, "they are the team that I could see challenging the Denver Nuggets for the top team in the West."

Already the laughingstock of the LSU board, because of his hilariously bad takes. Now moving on to the Pels.

Please don’t tempt the basketball gods like this. We’ve felt their wrath countless times. Larry is in the ICU so we could have Trey back.

If it wasn't for that random five game losing streak we would be looking damn good right about now.

If we didn't blow the Rockets game and the Wolves game, we would be sitting pretty as the 4th seed right now. But shite happens

We’re getting healthy and the hope is we peak at the right time which is later in the year, not just in December.

exactly. it's just a matter of a few close games, a few points. there's 4 easily winnable games that we lost by 5 or less points that really hurt us.

@houston: 101-104
vs. minnesota: 121-120
@utah: 100-105
@utah(again):112-114

we are 8 seed right now. if we can just go 2-2 in those 4 we are sitting in the 4 seed right now. 3-1; 3rd. 4-0; 2nd. If we can learn to close out tight games now that we have our full roster we will make large jumps in the standings within even the next month.

Pels are 8-4 vs teams over .500 and 4-6 vs teams under .500

Which team are you, Pelicans!!!

Ok but what’s our record based on health?

I imagine it’s pretty similar considering we started off 4-2 with CJ

Jazz games and bulls game unhealthy

Im trying to remember what other under .500 teams we’ve played

I see a team that can compete with the top teams in the NBA, and now that they are healthy should be able to beat the bottom teams. I still think we can be a 50+ win team.

which is the exact opposite of the clearest path to a top 4 seed

win your home games
win your division games
win your sub-500 opponent games

year in and year out that’s the winning formula

Honestly an immature team with talent thats learning to grow and understand how to win consistently and get up for all the games. I know people will say this team has been together a while but the fact is they haven’t been on the court together for a long time. I feel hopefully these are growing pains to help us become more consistent later in the year.

All those numbers are fascinating, but tell you nothing. What’s our record since Trey and CJ have both been back and playing? That’s our team. Not the one where multiple key players are out.
