I can’t find any evidence of that whatsoever. They do have a deal thought

He was just a salesman in the end. He probably just got verification that they had local fox sports stations and winged the rest

No link, the ATT salesman at my door had to call home base when I asked him if att tv included Sinclair media owned channels. He came back to me with “ATT owns Sinclair and the service includes fox sports sw/NOLA”

Well I have ATT and can't watch the Pels legally.

CNBC report that the NBA is seeking $8bn per year in their next rights deal, up from the current figure of $2.5bn.

On the latest episode of Dunc'd On, Nate Duncan and Danny Leroux, both well-versed in the financial aspects of sports business (Nate has been a lecturer at Sports Business Classroom in Vegas for a few years now) speculate that this new figure is so high because it includes major networks buying out local TV deals and consolidating NBA content.

Some speculation that the deal the nba is asking for us so high because they want to buy out all local deals and streamline.

That would be great. Have everything on league pass with no blackouts. They would make way more money.

Also speculation that a streaming service like Netflix, Hulu or Amazon could buy the rights and you'd be able to get all games for one price, or just the team of your choosing for another price, getting rid of blackouts and etc.

THAT would be absolutely clutch.

Link? I'm just wondering if it's new. Amazon had their shot and missed it in the Disney bidding and Sinclair already has Bally's signed up as a corporate sponsor. They are losing a lot of money, but it also seems pretty far down the path to fall apart.

Its a discussion on Reddit NBA from a Dunc'd on podcast and a CNBC article.

Nothing overly legit just speculation from a variety of areas.

The description of the app and the partnership with Bally's really has this set up to make a ton of money on the back end with Casino referrals/commissions. I don't think they want anyone watching the games unless they are doing it in the "gamified" app. Which means we're probably going to get a pretty shitty in game experience.

I mean i'd say their speculation is pretty well-founded:

LINK

LINK /

And it's honestly the direction I have felt the league should go. I mean if you were starting a sports league today you never in a million years would go with the archaeic arrangement we currently see. You would be leveraging streaming services and ensuring mass penetration.

The problem will be:

1) Getting teams out of deals with outfits like Sinclair which will want a MASSIVE buyout to get out of their deals.

and

2) Teams like the Lakers and Knicks which have massive deals/networks wanting to share the spoils with small market teams.

Does the sale to Bally's mean we should be able to stream Pels games soon? Anyone?

TL;DR We don't know.

It's not a sale to Bally's. Sinclair bought the Fox Sports regional networks from Disney after the feds told Disney they couldn't buy all of Fox. Sinclair has entered into a 10 year $85 million naming rights/partnership agreement with Bally's and all of the regional networks are rebranding to Bally's at the end of March. How soon that pushes out their direct to consumer product is unknown.
