Because of Sinclair being off of the major streaming sites.

Multiple people familiar with the situation told
@chipscoggins that local franchises with FSN ties are looking at viewership losses of between one-quarter and one-third because of an ongoing stalemate between Sinclair and streaming providers.

The NBA is going to have to step in and deal with this. It’s really really becoming an issue for a lot of teams, but especially small market teams like us.

Unless they have some sort of performance or viewership number clauses in there, can they really do anything though? Normally low viewership numbers would be the TV network's problem, so the teams might not have pushed for those kind of clauses. Sinclair might be free to do this as long as they keep paying the money they owe the teams.

It is a problem though, this isn't just impacting the NBA. They cover a good number of pro Baseball teams too.

They can tell them that every single one of their teams will drop their contracts as soon as they run out.

Does the NBA want small market teams demanding a chunk of the local deals that teams like the Lakers or Knicks have?

Because you know a ton of small market teams already dislike many of those big market teams using them as a developmental league.

I had yahoo tv and realized that I couldn’t see the Pels anymore...so I rushed and bought league pass and still I couldn’t watch. Yes I’m a moron but frick that shite. It’s ridiculous that I can’t legally pay and watch my team on the tv in 2021.

The nba could find a way to solve this. Do a streaming service that covers all teams announced for whenever the last teams contract expires. Monthly fee and you get every single game. Teams share revenue.

Same exact thing here. If you pay for NBA league pass to see every game, you should see every game, but there are local blackouts. As much as I love the Pels, I'm not paying for cable just to watch them.

I was spending 80 a month, JUST to watch Pels games...

Not doing it anymore, not until they get away from Sinclair. I'll use streams

Here's how to get league pass and ALL NBA games without blackout. I have an Androidtv (shield and google's device).

I use ExpressVPN. Other vpn services will work as long as you can select a server in India.

1. Login to your vpn, set location to India.
2. Search for NBA league pass.
3. You will be offered league pass for $13.99 with a 7 day trial. Yes this is the cost for the entire season.
4. Since I have Androidtv, I downloaded the nbatv app and expressvpn. Before launching the NBA app, I sign into my VPN. After the game I log out of my VPN.

Wish I knew this a few days ago!!! We signed up for Cox gigablast and my wife REALLY wanted to get live TV back... I never watch it except for very few sports... anyway the TV level that includes all the FSN networks had a promo giving you HBOmax and 3 other movie channels free for 2 years and it was only $30 more than getting gigablast by itself. We were planning on signing up for HBO max anyway, so adding the other movie channels plus 140 TV channels for $15 a month seems like a deal to me. I discovered Cox pricing varies by address.... kind of crappy if you ask me.

Does a VPN work with Fire Stick?

I believe you can use a VPN with a fire stick. It runs on a limited form of android. For $50 Google tv runs checked around that thing though

I haven’t been able to watch many games this year. As a result my interest has waned.

I'm paying $100+ for Hulu Live. Signed up for it last year bc of FSN/Pels. This season they drop it so I'm now paying an extra $80 for At&t Go just to watch the Pels. I'd drop Hulu but at&t sucks hard, I hate their set up.

That is their plan, they just haven't said when it's coming out or what it will cost. They are rebranding to Bally's on March 31st and had previously said an upgraded app is coming "this spring". So having their direct to consumer option roll out with the new app wouldn't be surprising, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we didn't see it until later in the year.

They did, it’s called AT&Ttv. ATT owns Sinclair, I’m pretty sure that’s the reason for them leaving the other services

I can't find any evidence that this is the case. Got a link?

No link, the ATT salesman at my door had to call home base when I asked him if att tv included Sinclair media owned channels. He came back to me with “ATT owns Sinclair and the service includes fox sports sw/NOLA”
