I just rather some CP over Lillard if we are talking prototypes

I don't really get the CP3 comparisons though. Burke isn't nearly the ball handler, decision maker, penetrator (includes finishing around the rim), pick-pocketer, or athlete that Paul was coming out of Wake Forest. The only similarities to me are the height and the will to win.

But why are we even discussing this when we already have our PG of the future from the lottery last year.

Coaching staff wasn't blind. They saw Rivers more than we did last year. If he pans out, we have an embarrassment of riches. If he busts, then we're okay because we will at least have a guy who doesn't have a broken jumpshot.

Burkes got a lot more Kemba Walker in him than Chris Paul

I was actually talking about Rivers haha, but Aminu is understood.

I really cringed every time I saw Austin shoot the ball last year. That hitch in his elbow gives me nightmares. How could his father allow such atrocity? Aminu's shot is smooth at least gosh.

Paul college stats:

62 TS%
Effective field goal percentage of 54%
6.3 offensive win shares
3.1 defensiev win shares
.178 Win share per 40

Burke:
55 TS%
Effective field goal percentage of 51%
9.7 offensive win shares
3.4 defensive win shares
.201 win share per 40 minutes

Keep in mind these are their career averages. Both CP3 and Burke spent 2 years in college.

possibly....he is very explosive and quick...he can penetrate, and has a decent shot...he could be a ROY candidate if given the minutes

I think it's really hard to compare PGs in college to pros. The pro game is just so different.

I want to know why mclemore isn't on the board

Burke played with a much better team than CP3.

Doc was busy making more money than he ever did as a player winning the NBA title as a coach.

this would be true if we drafted him here too when comparing hornet teams....especially if you consider inaugural seasons

Burke may have played on a better team, but he did contribute more win shares than CP3.

I'm usually a fan of advanced stats, but not in this scenario. Paul's talents are just far and above that of Burke's.

Because he was in a situation to make a good team great...whereas Paul made an average team good. Burke is not in Paul's league.

if burke is 80% of what CP3 was...i think he is worth the 6th pick we are talking about one of the best pure points to ever pay the game.

No shite. I wasn't trying to prove Burke is in the same league as Paul. I just simply posted the advanced stats of each player.

FWIW, I think Burke will bust.

There is one guy out there in Paul's league. And he's not in this draft. So comparing is dumb

I think Burke will be able to play. All star maybe not but I think the guy has the game to be a player
