Chad, i came up with this list of players who went from zero to hero as 3pt shooters while crapping at work today. Literally took 10 minutes and im sure there are a bunch more.
At the end I'll post the ultimate Lonzo comp.
Marcus Smart
College: 29%
1st 4 seasons: 29%
Last season: 36%
Kyle Lowry
College: 32%
First 4 seasons: 26%
Last 9 seasons: .378
Al-Farouq Aminu
College: 23%
First 5 seasons: 28%
Last 4 seasons: .353%
Blake Griffin
College: 30%
First 4 seasons: 23%
Last 5 seasons: .354%
Tobias Harris
College: 30%
First 3 seasons: 28%
Last 5 seasons: .377%
Will Barton
College: 29%
First 3 seasons: 23%
Last 4 seasons: .358%
Trevor Ariza
College: 23%
First 8 years: 31%
Last 7 years: .362%
Kemba Walker
College: 32%
First 4 seasons: 31%
Last 4 seasons: .377%
Marvin Williams
College: 43%
First 6 seasons: 31%
Last 8 seasons: .373$
De'Aaron Fox
College: 24%
Rookie year: 30%
Second year: 37%
Trey Burke
College: 36%
First 2 years: 32%
Last 4 seasons: .361%
CJ Miles
College: N/A
First 2 seasons: 23%
Since then: .361%
Paul George
College: 39%
1st NBA season: 29%
Since then: 38%
Tyreke Evans
College: 27%
First 6 seasons: 27%
Last 4 seasons: .377%
Porzingis
Europe: 32%
Rookie Year: 33%
Last 2 seasons: .373
Jimmy Butler
College: 38%
First 3 seasons: 30%
Last 5 seasons: 35%
And the best comp:
Justise Winslow
College: 41%
First 2 seasons: 25%
Last 2 seasons: .377%
Story here is its a shooters league, and these guys are hoisting up more 3pointers than ever in the offseason. It just so happened last offseason Ball spent recovering from a meniscus surgery, barely got any practice time, and his second year was interrupted after he sprained an ankle in-game.
Notice a trend here that guys who shot well in college were the quickest to turn it around in the pros(George, Burke, Winslow). But also notice how absolutely bum 3 point shooters (looking at you Tyreke) eventually became good shooters after time.
And you are telling me a guy that hit 41% in college and around that over game stretches of 10-20 games in the pros wont become a good shooter? lol. Someone bet me, please.
At the end I'll post the ultimate Lonzo comp.

Isn't Ingram the person who suckered punched Chris Paul?
Who here hasn’t dreamed of doing just that? Ingram would fit right in. CP3 is annoying as shite to play against.

And once again, Lester Earl makes a thread on here that has nothing to do with Lonzo Ball and Brandon Ingram about Ball and Ingram.
We get it. We don’t like them so you have to do the Lester thing and love them and be contrary in every thread.
Neat. Move on. Talk about it in relevant threads. For the love of god.

I expect a trade this upcoming week. ADs value will never be higher

Kinda hope this guy gets the Lakers trade he wants just to watch it all burn.
Bonus points for citing Marcus Smart's shooting improvement as your lead example for why Ball is a superior trade alternative to him based on... not doing that yet.
Also, I assume some of you have actually touched a ball in your life that wasn't attached to yourself or a close relative? The players here know Lonzo's form is pretty busted. Not Simmons bad, but dude would likely have to remake his entire shot to get that kind of improvement.

Probably on draft night. Have to hold out hope that Morant doesn't slip to 3rd or some major shakeup happens that changes the landscape. If it happens before that, it will because it has been Boston all along, and both teams are just waiting for Kyrie June 13th option deadline to remove the current Rose Rule prohibition.
But definitely too risky to take it past the early draft IMO. They will also want to choose their own players with whatever lesser picks they receive.

I think if/when(probably when) close out GS monday I expect it to ramp up

I respect Fletch, but I just dont see how he knows whats really going on. Sounds like he heard an offer from someone in the FO and ran out to tell us it was happening. I just say what I say, because of the title thread that states Davis IS going to Boston.

Ingram is a good player. I’m not gonna pretend like he isn’t. Lonzo is fine too. It’s the fact that their injuries are concerning. Lonzo hasn’t been able to ever stay healthy. His free throw percentage is good awful and a bad sign for his shooting production. Kuzma is just a bench player.

A Boston writer was saying the same things tho. Not the exact trade assets fletch said but that there is a strong interest between both parties

quote:But that is already known. I just find it weird Fletcher came with who the players were in the trade talking like it was close to a done deal. It is what it is, but I guess I just see that as being weird for someone like Fletch to come out with that without it being a little more finalized. And as far as we know right now, we as Pelicans fans are in the same boat as we’ve been since we won the lottery. (Aka waiting to see what the frick is gonna actually happen through all the rumors and whatnot).

I just cant see Griffin and Langdon fricking this up with their pedigree and it being this early of them being the leaders of the organization. Tatum, Smart, a filler, and a mid 1st round pick is very meh, but I wouldnt be as much against it if it included Hill, but that would take them giving us another high salary player to equal out. Idk, itll be interesting.

Yeah I think fletcher just got excited and wanted to spew out his guess on what it was

That’s why everyone love Adam Sheff so much. He and the NFL info is automatic.
On a side note, I like Ingram, Ball, Hart and the #4 just a wee bit better than what Fletch said for Boston. And with this said, I dont like the Lakers trade all that much, but I wouldnt be mad. If we trade with boston, we better get Smart, Brown, and Tatum since they dont have elite draft capital at the top of rounds. (They have a lot of picks, but they arent top of the line).
Edit: I personally want to get the Knicks #3 pick with Knox, Robinson, and a filler, but if the Boston thing happens with the players I named, Ill be equally as happy. A lot of unknowns going forward on what teams will offer.

If you think I am just “being contrary” then put your money where your mouth is bunchie. How many times do you have to be wrong to realize it is you, not me,

Boston's ability to trade for Davis depends largely on Al Hartford. Unless they are certain about Hartford's free agency option, it will be difficult for Boston to make the Davis trade.

Boy. This is some serious lack of self awareness.

Trust me bunchie, i am self aware, and very content with my right vs wrong ratio

Lester, I know you’re upset that someone you admire and respect disagrees with you, but we can get through this together.
