Don't see it as a shot at MM. He has a love affair with MM. He is always complimenting MM.

MM has shot down some of his "proposals", and rightfully so. He doesn't exactly go easy on him, though i do feel like he holds his tongue for the most part. Seems like there is a little tension there.

Did he really refer to the Pels as "we"?

Without naming him by name, while on Eric Asher, "people that think this team will all of a sudden be better by adding Gentry & building continuity with the players we have are foolish."

Did Fletch even watch the NBA this year? The Golden State Warriors literally won a title with the same exact roster and the only difference being a healthier, more experienced team and a new coach.

He really is. Look, I don't give ole Fletch as hard a time as others, because it least he covers the team and seems to be passionate about it.

But dude treats everything like its 2k. Loves transactions just for the sake of movement, doesn't have a firm grasp on Salary Cap, etc etc. And Fletch loves him some foreigners that never amount to shite.

I still say that Fletcher's enthusiasm and willingness to cover the NBA in New Orleans at a time that nobody else really was more than makes up for the dumb crap he says and posts.

He's a bad sportscaster / sports director in a market with horrendous sports coverage (which amazingly makes him look somewhat competent at his job)n

He has been battling with the TBW guys even more than me on this, and I am fine with it. He's a fan. He's enthusiastic. He wants the best, he just doesn't necessarily see the patterns on how to get there.

You look at what I consider the 7 best teams

GSW, ATL, SA, Cleve, Mem, Hou, LAC

And I see one team that "won" the offseason in that bunch. Cleveland got a mega star, and you do that every time if you can. Otherwise, continuity seems to be a better recipe.

I say we just leave the guy alone. He is harmless, and at least he cares.

Pels will have top 8 back and Withey as a 12th man with some upside. Use MLE and BAE to get guys 9-11

I'm just not sure how this makes NOLA better.
So many "what if's" need to fall into place.

i sometimes question whether he's just really that dumb or if he's trying to play the troll role.

i dont always agree with you, but i couldnt agree with you more on this. So many times last year i just felt Monty mis-used our pieces. Then couple that with injuries, and it didnt work like it should have. The talent is there, roles just need to be more defined, and guys need to stay healthy.

also think our asst coaching hires will pay big dividends

Honestly, when I was 15-20, I would have thought this exact same thing too. We all did at some point. Then, somewhere along the line somebody taught us better or we learned for ourselves by continuing to watch.

It's all good. He offers a different viewpoint and I am sure it appeals to other types of fans.

Over Jimmy?

I gotta disagree with that one.

But something tells me that maybe Jimmy won't be with us much longer. Just a hunch

These comments prove to me that he has absolutely no clue as to what team basketball is about.

We gelled so well at the end of the year last season and that was without Jrue.

His comments would be accurate if we had a bunch of old vets and no young superstars.

But we have AD and a young group of guys that are hungry.

I feel like Jimmy is trolling which makes him a dick but he accomplishes what he wants. Fletcher is just clueless.

Yeah, and to me, the first one is worse.

Clueless people can become informed.

Yeah but clueless and stubborn creates an ignorant and argumentative monster.

This I completely agree with.

I still think Fletch comes from a pure place where I know Jimmy is vindictive and that is where his reporting comes from. So I would take Fletch over him. But again, there may not be two of them much longer. We shall see.
