I’m told some in Pelicans circles are privately hoping Davis doesn’t have a change of heart.
Griff adamant on pitching him on new path...as he should be...but some are very ready to move on from this sad AD saga - which is of course the likely outcome

This is in response to the following from Steve Kyler:

quote:

Unless he changes course -- which it does not seem he is open to -- I think he is moved at the draft and the Pelicans move on. AD has been training in California and some of the coaches he's been around say nothing has changed - that said we'll see how good a salesman Griffin is.

It’s a win-win for us IMO. I know we can’t get equal return on a trade but it’ll be better than most superstar trades. I’m at peace with this either way (thanks to Zion)

I always think the opposite of what Fletcher says actually happened.

I.e. The head custodian told Fletch he was tired of AD's shite.

You can look through my post history and see how much I’ve made fun of Fletch.

But he definitely has some level of source and has shown that throughout this whole saga.

He does not have the level of source that Crewz has but he’s definitely got something.

I would say that this report is actually sourced because Crewz responded to this by attacking that source.

To follow up here:

Fletch's source is a fat frick from an old era where the Pelicans culture sucked cow dick.

There are new sherrifs in town - and they know how to build a culture, and I trust them to do the right thing. Fletch, tell your fat friend to sit down and STFU

Damn that’s ridiculously caustic even for MM.

He hates Ole Fletch with a passion.

Fletch needs to STFU before he ruins whatever leverage the Pelicans have when it comes to trading AD.

Fletch is jealous of his colleagues that are leaving for better jobs than WDSU. He's making shite up in the hopes to catch on at the national level of reporting.

Fletch and McNamara are both clowns, but for very different reasons.

McNamara has said on this board that Fletch has done him dirty a couple of times with fake info and taking his info and not giving credit.

Fletch burned that bridge a long time ago with McNamara.

With that being said I hope Fletch is cut out of the Pelicans org completely at some point. Releasing any of this info does not contribute to anything positive and hurts our trade value.

That and he's a glorified amateur when it comes to journalism.

On top of that: MM just big time outed a source. I’m sure everyone with knowledge of the Pels inner workings knows who it is now.

Anyone on the inside who wants AD out is someone from the old regime and possibly someone who needs to go for many, many reasons.

I agree. I’m not condemning. I just find it interesting.

I’d love if we could make this thread about the OP and not Crewz though.

I feel like Fletcher thought his hair would do a lot of the work in making him famous and then stopped trying to actually be a reporter.

His brother frequently exaggerates to gin up a headline or 'scoop,' so I'm sure Fletch is much the same.

Was David Booth the outed source?

I think there's a reason most of this board is kind of leery of keeping AD. There's just a ton of baggage here.

If AD joins KD/Kyrie and is naturally the #3 because of his quiet personality I think he'd be ok with that. If he becomes #3 behind Zion/Jrue, that's a demotion. Is he really going to give his all in that situation, or will this be like Eric Gordon and he really needs a new situation to not half arse it?
