Or get a 3 and d guy. If you are spending a high pick on a player he needs to be able to shoot.

A guy like Johnny Davis really intrigues me.

I think he has good upside for a 2-guard, he defends well, he shot really well to start the year, but dropped off in the later half.

Is thay better than a guy like mathurin?

I think Mathurin can be more like Anthony Edwards. Maybe less steady than Davis all around, but when those two are locked in, I feel like they can take over games in a way that Johnny may not be able to

I would love to see the Pels add Jaylin Williams (AR) with one of the second round picks.

IMO he could already be more of what we are trying to make Jaxson Hayes into (stretch 4/ small ball 5 that can play good team defense and be a finisher inside and out on O) and at a fraction of the cost.

He has been rising up mock drafts and may be a late 1st round guy instead, but if he’s there then I would make the pick in a second.

Speaking of Jaylin Williams, the other Jalen Williams in this class out of Santa Clara seems to solidified himself as a first rounder in this class, and could keep climbing.

He’s very intriguing. He measured 6’6 with a crazy 7’2.25” wingspan, 8’9 vertical reach, I believe he had the 5th highest recorded vert as well. Really good shooter at 40% from three on the season, 48% from three in the half court as a spot up shooter. He only took 3.2 a game but the stroke is very smooth and very consistent, I buy him as a shooter.

He’s also a super instinctual passer which I love, 4.2 asts a game. Between the passing and the shot he’s a good PnR ball handler.

He’s got some work to do defensively but I think he does better sliding up to defend guards rather than sliding down to defend bigger wings and maybe some smaller 4’s. The thought of him just smothering guards with those arms is really interesting.
