many of us at some point in time hated the guy for what he said in the past.

but he's the second best (qualified) 3 point shooter in the league right now. dude willingly came off the bench the bench today.

he's averaging 15 points, 5 assists, 3 boards, and a steal since coming off his injury. 47% from 3. he's actually playing better on the road than at home, unlike the rest of the team (outside AD).

it will be a sad fricking day if he opts out of his contract this year, IMO. and would be quite ironic.

ideally, we could get him to sign a 4 year deal at the end of this season for around $40 mil, and that would be great. doubt that happens, but he is in an awkward situation with the cap expected to go up in 2017. he could opt out and re-sign for 2 years at like $24 mil rather than take the 1 year, 15 mil and then have to go elsewhere and sign under the current, lower cap. not sure, would like some input from the cap guys around here.

As much good will as he's earned, I still wouldn't feel comfortable re signing him. It has nothing to do with anything other than health.

I said it in the game thread. He playing much better that he's not so ball dominant now. He's a much better catch and shoot player than I thought.

I hope we can keep him at an affordable rate.

I, too, hated on him quite a bit in the past. However, he has proven me and the rest of us wrong with his 3 point shooting. Dude is very efficient this year. He just needs to get healthy again w/ his shoulder injury, and hopefully he will stay with the Pels.

From perusing the board, I'd have to say you're a bit of an unhappy camper all the way around.

I was referring to him being efficient at the 3 point line. He obviously has not been so good inside, which he definitely needs to work on. I still say we keep him since he and a few other players are why we are one of the more efficient 3 point shooting teams post-ASB.

His efficiency on shots within 10 feet is severely limited by the referees. Basically, he's punished for not flopping.

I thought he came off of the bench due to a rules violation? Or was that someone else the broadcast was talking about before the game?

ETA: if he can stay healthy and put up his post injury numbers, he's probably worth about 10-11 mil. I just don't know if he can stay healthy, when healthy he's a solid 2 guard; I'd definitely rather him over Tyreke.

I think he was late to a team meeting from what I understand.

It is not that I am anti Gordon, however, his whole tenure here with the Pels has been injury riddled.

Knowing this, do you really think some team is going to pay him 10 million plus per year?

I mean, sure, if he plays like he has recently. But that is a very short window of consistent, injury free, playing time.

It is a big chance any team takes signing him with his injury history. Is there any other player to compare with Eric Gordon's upcoming situation?

In the new TV deal cap, $10M will be like $6M under today's cap. Gordon for $10M would be legit as frick.
