Did any one see this when it aired and had any comments on it?

I ask because for him to go to the trouble of doing an editorial on the subject so recently he must haveinside info from a source that's credible within the organization. I can believe the MT side because that would be easy info to get.

Does anybody here have any insight on this directly from anybody in the know?

That wife was pretty hot.

And agree 100% with the editorial, unless MT5 REALLY wants to play near home.

If Demps pulled that off along with resigning DWest and Landry, the Hornets will be in the NBA finals!!!

Oh and in before ULL, hatonmileshead and Tmon come with the Thornton hate.

He'd be the best 5 minute per game SG ever!!

He says he wouldn't rule out returning to the Hornets but:
quote:

I’m looking for a team that is really interested in me,” he said, “a team where I can go in and help them win right away.”

This doesn't say Hornets to me.

Give me a break DJ the Hornets could sign all of those guys and still be a 5-8 seed.

Doesn't say Kings either after drafting Jimmer and trading for Salmons. I'm not sure if there is interest in Thornton from the front office or not. If you sign Thornton that's it at SG. There just weren't enough minutes to go around with 3 SGs on the roster, and is Beli/Thornton the upgrade CP3 is looking for? You'd be relying a lot on player improvement, which is entirely possible from both players.

Assuming no personal issues are there with Monty/Thornton, which is a kind of big assumption, would he be a better choice than Nick Young or JR Smith? Thornton's not as long as those guys but he does have a year in the system. If Demps isn't able to land a veteran like JRich, I don't think Thornton returning is impossible. Maybe Cuban will keep his dirty whore mouth shut now that he has a bracelet.

I loved having Thornton in New Orleans, but the fact that people think there is a chance he plays here under Monty is laughable. He wasn't wanted, that was obvious.

Belinelli, Thornton, JR Smith, and Nick Young...

none are much help defensively.

so saying that its ridiculous to get Thornton back because he lacks defense makes no sense if you're gonna add any of those other guys on your SG wishlist.

if those are our only SGs to choose from, i'd go:

1. Nick Young
2. Marcus Thornton
3. JR Smith
4. Marco Belinelli

Well for some reason Marcus' lack of defense really sticks out to Monty. If he didn't play him before because of D it would be odd if he decides he wants to play him now, unless Monty is admitting it was stupid to not play him before. It's not like Marcus picked up any new defensive techniques in Sacto.

Thornton is much better than Nick Young, would be happy with Young though.

It is hard putting Thornton in the same backcourt with CP3. We would have a undersized backcourt. He fits in better in Sacramento because they have a 6'6 Evans to help on the defensive end.

Evans gets steals, but that's cuz he has long arms and quick hands...and also cuz he gambles a lot. I'll take an undersized backcourt with good fundamentals on D than a big one without it.

Not saying Thornton and CP3 would be that...but I am just sayin'.

They drafted Jimmer as a marketing gimmick, don't think he's going to ride the pine. They are going to let him score his arse off no matter how many games it loses them. Thornton will see his minutes cut and may spend as much time in the backcourt with Jimmer as he does with Tyreke.

Thornton would be wise to leave Sac unless they give him a good offer. Chicago would be a good spot in a sixth man/microwave role. If he comes back to Nola, that means Demps has run out of ideas. As said above, Monty and Thornton just didn't mix. Not sure why that would change now

As much as I love Marcus, I don't want to see this cause I want the Heat to dominate the east. Hell, if he could play pg more he could be beneficial to the Heat. That's just me dreaming though

He would be a great, great fit in Miami too. Perfect complement to big three on offense with his skill set. Could be more of a scorer when resting LBJ/Wade. Doesn't need to be pg, just be able to guard them. MIA offense doesn't rely on pg to create much at all.
