I think we sign a key free agent and make it to the 5th or 6th seed in the West. Davis will be an all-star with Gordon. We have almost everything we need to win sooner than later besides big help which we will get starting next week. Experience is a little overrated as far as getting into the playoffs. I think we push our first round series to 7 games. Who knows if we win. Depends on the matchup and if we have home court. We would have had a solid record this year with Gordon, a closer.

A respectable season, the playoffs aren't out of the question, but I see us falling short this year.

I'll take this kind of year as a season ticket holder. Being competitive after a year like last will make me excited.

Def this year. He is going to be a double double guy every night and flirt around with crazy stat stuffing spreads across the board. The kid did what he had to at Kentucky. Just like Rivers both guys will show more offensively and they frankly wont play if they dont defend. My crazy optimism depends a lot on what we do with our Center position.

as a non season ticket holder (i know not true fan) i'll be thrilled with a 9th seed in the west as long as we see development in our young guys and eric gordon not injured. #comingtogether

Doubtful, IMHO.

The west is pretty stacked at forward between Durant, Griffen, Aldridge, Love, and Dirk.

I don't see him making it unless he starts putting up insane numbers like Love did, with his 30-30 games and so forth.

People seem to forget that we were in a majority of our games last season with injuries all over the place and just ran out of gas on key possessions. It will be a massive jump. Can't wait to see all the ESPN guys flabbergasted.

Pretty sure the hornets last yr w/ EG were arnd a .500 team. Really don't see how the addition of AD and AR would make us worse than that.

The key to our success will be EG's health. I really think if EG stays healthy then we are a borderline playoff team.

Who wouldn't vote for THE BROW...even if he isn't as good as those other names?

This.

Especially when there are already some established vets in the west that he would be up against for a spot.

Maybe we could start a rumor that he's Chinese...

That way, he'll be a starter for the next decade even if he's injured.

I think we can fight for a playoff spot and will end up somewhere close to .500

I projecting probably around a 40-42 season - which might get you in the playoffs. I think it really depends on the health of Gordon.

But I wouldn't put anything past Monty Williams and a bunch of scrubs to the playoffs a couple years ago. Now I'm not saying we have a player whose talent is comparable to Paul, but I think the team's overall talent has improved.

If they can resign Kaman or Landry for discounted prices...then the Hornets could make a little noise.

That being said, I wouldn't mind a high lottery pick again in the future: McAdoo, Noel, and Muhammed are gonna be legit.

I think we win 33-38 games. Gotta remember that these are rookies, and we don't have a 5.

Huge leap the following year, though.

If the hornets can get a decent center, rookies progress well, gordon stays healthy and aminu improves upon last year. This team could get as high as a 5 seed but realistically, an 8 seed and out in the first round where in next years draft they draft a center.

39 wins. Still holes in the roster and 2 rookies figure to see big minutes. But a 10-15 win improvement is pretty good.

Dave Berri had a Freakonomics post about tanking that covered hoe quickly bad teams turn it around.

Summary: Very tough to jump from awful to good in one season unless you are Boston and trade for 2 Hall of Famers.
