Lost in all the Herb, Jose and BI praise is how good Dyson was on defense. He was getting his hands on EVERYTHING and played really well on Fox.

His fastbreak attempt was embarrassing but his offensive limitations are much less glaring in the limited minutes he played last night.

Herb's offense is taking off. That dude has confidence on the break and an elite Euro step that's pretty much automatic. And if he gets fouled, he's one of our best and most clutch FT shooters.

His 3 ball looks great and he is getting aggressive getting to the rim.

Herb could end up being a 15 ppg player just hitting open 3s, putbacks, and transition layups/dunks.

Herb is an All Star level player.

Great point. I just looked at the boxscore and I'm dumbfounded that he only played 6 minutes because it feels like he made a shite ton of plays....because he did.

2 straight steals, 1 or 2 other possessions with deflections.

And yes, the terribly timid layups that drive me nuts.

I don't even know what the frick he did on that one break. It was like a floater/finger roll that didn't touch the rim haha.

Dyson has made fox his bitch every game so far.

Say what you want about his offense but Dyson is a god damn elite defender

Dyson had a monster net rating last night especially when we went to a 3 wing lineup. His impact on defense is pretty nuts.

On ball, Dyson is every bit as good as Herb. He moves his feet so well and recovers without fouling.

The play where he just instinctively put his hands down low to steal the backdoor pass was pretty impressive. He did that blindly. He didn't know where the ball was but knew Fox was going low so he just dropped his hands and stole it, basketball IQ for the win.

Agreed. Dyson’ on-ball defense is fantastic. So smooth.

Dyson needs to watch how Naji attacks. That being said, he still hasn’t gotten to his grown man strength level yet. His body is still physically maturing so maybe that will naturally come as he fills out.

Dyson is a two foot leaper. It doesn't seem like he can explode off of one foot nearly as well. It's why he tends to slow down when he gets to the basket to gather himself for the leap and it gets him in trouble since defenders can recover.

Dyson will be on Herbs level offensively in 3 years. His defense is already close. He will improve a lot.

Hot take i think Dyson is better on ball. But herb is much better off ball and the better overall defender

I'm not sure Dyson will ever be better than Herb at the basket. Herb has always been elite at the basket. The difference now is that he's going to the rim at a much higher frequency. Herb is pretty ambidextrous in traffic and that's something Dyson doesn't possess. Herb is exceeding my expectations as an offensive player and I still don't think he's done developing yet.

Honestly, he’s better. Herb’s off ball D is what makes him a better overall defender.

Agree. On ball, Dyson is better at moving and not fouling. But Herb is like having prime Ed Reed roaming the sidelines.
