In 4 weeks

Good news?

Pelicans  announced today that guard Dyson Daniels underwent a successful meniscectomy on his left knee. Daniels is expected to make a full recovery and will be re-evaluated in four weeks to determine his recovery progression.

Sounds more like they won't even know what the recovery timeframe will be until then.

They’ll give him 4 weeks to see if the meniscus heals on its own and he can come back. If not it’s probably the surgery route and hes done.

Edit: nevermind he had surgery.

The way that the Pels word these updates is so confusing for no reason. Dyson had a meniscectomy procedure, not a repair. This means that his tear must have been smaller. At his age, and at this point in the season, they would have elected to go with a repair with a larger tear. He would have been out until next season but would have been ready for camp. Because he had the meniscectomy, his recovery will be substantially quicker. If they don't take a super cautious approach he should be ready in 6-8 weeks. Remember, Trey stayed out close to 12 weeks with a similar procedure. The four week timeline is arbitrary. He will be rehabbing daily so they continuously get the info they need to progress him.

That'd put him back just in time for the playoffs.

The recovery for meniscectomy (removal of the damaged portion of meniscus) is less time than for a repair. Recovery times still vary. Trey Murphy had the same surgery and he was out for 12 weeks.

He will need at least 6 weeks. Basically our hope is having him back for the playoffs.
